I had friends ditch me in a club and I literally remember nothing after that - only found out the next day that some guy found me sat on the curb outside throwing up so he checked my purse for my student ID and put me in a taxi and had them take me back to my uni campus where security took me back to my room. I have no idea who that guy was but it genuinely scares me what could have happened if it weren’t for him and I have never gotten that drunk since
First off, horrible friends, second holy crap, I'm glad that guy found you before some creep did
Did you stop being friends with them?
I like how he was getting mad till the chorus kicked in
Chris Janson has said that his daughters inspired this song. He hopes that this is how someone will treat his own children, should they ever get in this situation.
I was getting ready to comment this but wanted to check to make sure someone else hadn't already commented it... I try not to comment the same thing that someone else does. Thank you for posting this information for everyone.
So, this song is basically mine and my husbands story. We met online and our second date I had waaaay to much to drink. He carried me up three flights of stairs (will never live that down), put me to bed and that was that. Eight months later we got married! 😆 Couldn’t let something that good get away.
he was inspired to write this song about his experience as a dad
I pray my daughters will meet a man with this much integrity and respect.
That's a real man, take a drunk girl home to help her get her life back on track. Not take advantage of her and sleep with her like most would. Great message
About 20 yrs ago I was dating my now wife and one night I got off of work late and went to the local bar we usually hung out in and I walk into the section where the pool tables are and as I walk in my girlfriends mom fell off a chair drunk.(she had lost her husband a few months before and wasn’t doing well) I walked over and asked if I could help her get home? I drove her home then decided I was tired and went back to my apartment. The next day my girlfriend called to thank me. A few years ago she told me when she found out what I did for her mom, she knew I was the one. I relate to that song even though that’s not exactly what happened that’s a great message
I actually saw Chris Janson in concert he’s really good live. My little sister was pulled on stage and sung Buy me a Boat. He’s very preachy, super religious and doesn’t drink
I met my husband almost a decade ago at a bar. I know...
I wasn’t drinking alcohol at all. I just happened to be there due to circumstances outside my control.
And I didn’t want to talk to, much less meet anybody. Then there was him.
When he decided it was time for him to go home, he gave me his number. I enjoyed our conversation so much that I called him. And he called me back.
We didn’t see each other again for almost a month.
What can I say? A decade later, we’re still together and happier than most folks. It’s hard sometimes, but it’s worth it.
Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed your story. I met at Chris Janson and his wife. The Academy of Country Music and a group called COPD360. Org put together a harmonica class for a group of us at Saint Thomas Rutherford. Chris has breathing problems and the harmonica actually helps for people who have breathing problems. He showed us a few tricks and was really funny and kind, as was his wife. Unlike the guy who made the rude comment. People like that need our love and support the most. It was awfully unkind for no reason, except he is in pain, either emotional or physical. I like hearing stories about a relationship that worked out. My folks were married over 60 years and I hope you make it too!
Ain't it a great message. I've lived it and want to pass that message onto my son. Don't forget my request for Lonestar's "My Front Porch Looking In" and those Evanescence songs I requested. Thanks Billy. Stay you!!!
You really never know the reason anyone would be out drunk alone could be any number of things maybe she’s been through some things and has a lot on her mind. A real gentleman will always try to do the right thing though.
at the start of the song it says maybe she’s fresh off a breakup which means she may be sad and just doesn’t care anymore and just went to get drunk by herself since she’s sad
If all men did this, what a better world it would be! Love this message 👏🏼❤️
Jake Owen "What we ain't got"
Eric Paslay "She don't love you"
Brett Young "Mercy"
Dustin Lynch "Love me or Leave me alone"
Carrie Underwood "Something in the Water"
Thomas Rhett- Remember You Young ( Marry Me Sequal)
Tim McGraw- Live like you were dying;
Humble and Kind
Your reaction to the message is endearing. 😁❤️
Billy I like this country kick ya got goin on. Also the hard Rock you been doin. I'm a metal head myself and also love country
Nothing like some rock and country!
Chris Janson is an awesome person and when I first heard the beginning of this song it freaked me out! Until he got to the chorus of course. Love your reactions
Driving for Lyft I take a lot of drunk people home on Saturday night. If they're having trouble standing or walking I'll escort them all the way into their house. I've had more than one parent of a 20 something lady thank me for looking out for her.
Thank you for being a great human being!
You are such a good man
I'm a veteran and when I got out, my adjustment didn't go well. For years I went to the movies, out to eat, and yes to bars Alone.
When I first heard this song I thought it was a great message and a pretty good song. It was like I wouldn’t turn it off if it came on but I wouldn’t purposely turn it on until I heard the reason he wrote it and now it’s one of my favorite songs.
First time I heard this I just cried.. If all young girls were so lucky! Its a beautiful song
I wish every drunk girl had someone to take them home safely! Most times it just doesn't turn out that way...
My nieces always knew that they could call "Aunt C's Taxi Service" (me) any time of the night, no matter their condition, wherever they were, no questions asked, no gas money asked for or accepted. I was called a couple of times. It was important to me that they knew that they had a safe ride home regardless of the situation and it extended to the friends they were with as well.
I saw Chris Jason sing that live. I fell in love with the song because it's not the norm today.
You should’ve done the video of this!!!! The video has a bigger impact than just the song alone
They have one. It is father and daughter start to show that this gi is someone's daughter.
I think most of us would like to find a guy who knew the difference between a boy and a man. I love Chris Janson, lots of feel good stuff! Check out Good Vibes some time, or even Buy me a boat. 😉 Keep up the good stuff! 🙌 Blessed be 💕
He wrote this about how he Hope's this is how his daughters are treated when they grow up
PLease react to Three Wooden Crosses - Randy Travis.
This is a beautiful one.
Love this song! Buy me a boat is also great. This song is about a gentleman
This song reminds me of my best friend. Love this song & I love Billy's reaction!!!!
This song is amazing 😊. I love Chris janson
Songs like this is what makes me love country music
I really like the message in this song. I have yet to find any female that I know who likes this song. It seems that women, not all, some, don't understand the difference between showing respect and sexism. "She doesn't need him to fix her mess. If she wants to mess up her life let her! The number by the phone implies she owes him a call back." Those are the main reactions I hear from other females. No. You call him back and thank him for seeing you home safely, that's what we call good manners. Also, girl. Is somebody looking at you and thinking you might need a little help the worst way this evening could end? Nope. Great song
laura beth Belcher I love this song and love the message! I really hope people start listening to it. and take a drunk girl home. respectfully
When my son went away to college, he was so shocked at the crap some women gave him just for holding the door open. When he met a girl who recognized the difference, he knew she was it. They've been together for 10 years and married for 5.
I am a female and I love this song.
@@nancyhamilton9756 cool! We haven't met. I was referring to the females that I know, not all.
I was a country radio music director at the time this came out. This was right in the middle of the #metoo movement, and when I saw the title Drunk Girl, with the amount of bro country with very misogynistic vibes, I thought oh, no! After the first hook I had made up my mind I was putting it on the air. I left radio a few years ago, and I drive Uber on the weekends and I find that getting the drunk girls home safely is my most important duty.
My late husband did this. He was my boss and my coworkers told him I was drunk and guys were hitting on me. My hero. Came and picked me up and took me home. I was with a friend and she wasn't as drunk as me. I was going thru a divorce and celebrating my freedom ( a little to much) but I ended up marrying him. He was the perfect gentlemen I never had before. I miss him still, he passed away in 2007. This sounds like it isn't real but believe me it is and there still are good men out there. ❤
I liked this song. Thank you for your reactions.
The first time I went out drinking with my sister she refused to take her eyes of me the entire night no one should ever leave their friend alone drunk but I’m happy at least there are some good guys out there who are actually really good people
Good Vibes Chris Janson
she is alone, out on the town because her heart hurts, PLEASE BE KIND TO HER
I like the message too. I haven’t heard this in a couple of years. it’s kind. Yeah, why is she alone. Guess it happens.
since you are not watching the video, you don't know she has a daughter who hears things through the thin walls. The little girl went to a daddy daughter dance but her dad did not show up. She grew up to be the drunk mother.
If you haven’t, you should definitely watch the official music video. It’s a beautifully sad story but it’s a must
difference between a boy and a man.....I raised my boys right....I am blessed.....they would and have done this.
I'm proud to say my 22 year old son (an Airborne Infantry soldier) ran in to this situation. And instead of taking advantage of the young lady he was a gentleman. Took her home got her into her bed and left her apartment.
the actual music video to this song makes this song make way more sense.
I love this song play it for my sons for the message in it
Love this song and the message. Another song by him is Gonna buy me a boat
Good evening Billy, yeah I'm part of the billy you so crazy family I've been with you for about a year now Love all your reactions you are so very genuine and I love your emotional side. I am a Carolina lady, A South Carolina lady and a "Super Huge LUKE COMBS Fan,...Fanatic call it what you will could you PLEAZZZEEE react to his song"Even Though I'm Leaving" THANK YOU SOooo MUCH🌹💖😇
I ran into this a lot in high school. A lot of guys bragging about hooking up with a girl that was absolutely plastered. I got into countless arguments about it.
Marc Broussard “Cry To Me” (Solomon Burke Cover) it’s the video that’s in black and white
This one is awesome. Great suggestion! His earlier song Home is a kick a$$ song, the video is a must
I saw him live and he was soooooo good! And funny! He said that he wrote this song for his sons so they know their butts will be beaten if they don't do this
If you haven't yet you should review Holdin' Her also by Chris Janson.
i remember my dad played this song he wasnt the best dad but for me and said i know you make dumb decisions and that your young but if you ever go to a bar i hope a guy makes you realize your worth something. no everytime hear it i cry beczuse me and my dad and mom dont have a relationship. im 18 now. i was an alcoholic like my dad at 16. i moved out a month ago. i stopped drinking at 17. i started drinking to deal with truama from a domestic violence relationship.
Dancing in the sky...
You should do a Corey Smith song, he isn’t mainstream but great southern rock/country style. The best songs are “If I could do it Again”, “Twenty-one”, and “First Dance”
With today you never know what could happen, that's why we always have a DD or one of us just didn't drink(ME) if we took the bus or had to walk back. That way if anything happened one of us could take care of it or prevent it depending on the scenario.
Speak to a Girl by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. It has an awesome message, too.
Ya damn Skippy, that’s what a man does.
There Goes My Life - Kenny Chesney!!!
Chris Jansen said who wrote this song what is daughters in mind when they get old enough to drink but that boyfriend does the right thing doesn't drink at the bar and take a drunk girl home
Met a woman years ago while I was working night shift, taking a smoke break. She was absolutely plastered and trying to find her hotel that was like 2 miles away. Got her an Uber and told the guy what was up, always wondered if she got back ok... hope so.
I have only been drunk once in my life, and that is because I shot tequila one after another with friends. I am a member of the lgbtq and those clubs can get real crazy at times. I had a instance like this happen, a cool guy saw I was not in my right head space , and got me a uber , rode with me, and walked me into my house. He gave me a hug , and left. That man was my savior that night, because I live in St.Louis and theres a lot of crime. Anything could have happened to me come closing time.
Even back in the early 90s worry about being drunk at a party was something my family and I discussed so my aunt before I went to college wanted me to know my limits. 2 ounces in a blender full of daquari, I was sound asleep in 5 minutes so I learned my limit was none, but then again I can get *drunks* by eating a king sized candy bar and a full sugar soda. So yes between the Movie a Promising young woman and this song, it brought a lot of attention to the issue of drunk women being raped when they couldn't consent.
Barefoot blue Jean night - Jake Owen
Always a bachelorette never a bride or breaking up fighting depression drunk at home
Chris Janson wrote this song because he has a young daughter who he cares about .

why was she by herself????? She wasn't. She trusted her friends. One of her male friends took advantage and then tried to re-write what happened, knowing that he would be believed before her. Fact of life for women.
Three dads wrote this song together
My biggest issue with this song is "pick up her life she threw on the floor". As someone who has gone out for all kinds of different reasons, none of them were me throwing my life on the floor.
I don't like that one line and it sours the whole thing for me. As if to be in that place you basically threw your life away. I know everyone has different feelings and the song on the whole is an amazing message but I have a hard time listening to it any more.
#billyousocrazy!!!! please please please react to tracy lawrence find out who your friends are. You will love it
