The legendary Uncle J. An absolutely humble gentleman. I attended secondary school with his younger sister. I remember running into him and his younger sister around year 2000 somewhere in Ikeja. Uncle Jide was driving and his sister saw me and begged him to park and pick me up - AND HE DID! Turns out they weren't going my way but that gesture has remained in my heart till this very day. Therefore I know a good journalist and a superb interviewer. This guy is certainly an exceptional one who has stolen many of my nights. I like the way he talks
One of the best interview so far. Nothing is new in his personality. I have studied the man for a long term , non controversial, easy going but I never knew he grommed big name like that. Long live jide. What a down to earth man

I like Jide Chord's take on magic, spirituality and polygamy. On magic and spirituality, Nigerians find it difficult to believe good or bad things can happen due to training, chance or karma. I believe all magicians are just illusioninsts and when Nigerians can't explain something, it is quickly classified as supernatural.
It is similar in religion. Statistically, the chanceof there being people who will succeed or fail in a congregation is at least one percent per month. This makes it easier for heads of religious establishment to make prophesies/statements regarding these and people will assume it is his/her doing. The same mentality makes people want to have something physical (water, anointing oil, etc) to give confidence in a job interview, while travelling, etc.
As for polygamy, he is very right about the western world's take on that. The only caveat/loophole in the west is that you can't/shouldn't have two wives at the same time but you can have as many as you want as long as you divorce the current one. It could as well have been left for the couple to decide if they want to be in polyamourous relationships. I guess in time, that will be the case with the way liberalism is going. I am quite sure that if polygamy had started in the western world, they (western world) would have been deemed it fine, while getting married and divorcing would have been frowned upon.

Dele Adeyanju you were right with the argument that Daily Sketch Ibadan began the entertainment features in the early 70s. Abayomi Tabi was one of their writers. I can't remember if Kayode Soyinka, was also in the Sketch entertainment then.
I actually agreed with Dele Agbaletu on the retirement plan for the musicians ❤ he made ist cleared enough with that illustration at hr 17miin of this clip 👌 yes musicians should plan for their retirement too at that age 70 or there about,"people will definitely judge and rate you for the present performance not for the past ones" its so true 100% ❤❤and at that age you are already losing it truth be told 👍👉👂👂

Another excellent interview, Dele but it is very unfortunate that Cele boy Jide Chord thought it was something cool to display and drink imported brandy during this interview. It isn't cool. It's appalling actually. He merely confirmed that he has alcohol problem and also why the likes of him would never attain the levels of respectability and success that disciplined Commander Ober and KSA have. His Yoruba English is also not cool; given that he is a Yoruba Juju so called artiste. As for Professor Peller's magic works, there was NO Voodoo involved whatsoever. It was merely illusions for entertainment purposes. He was NOT spiritually powerful. There were merely magical illusions. Aka. tricks. Religions are institutionalised scams and down to mere powers of believe.
