Sinéad O'Connor was undoubtedly one of Ireland's greatest and most gifted talents, who in many respects was before her time. I was a teenager when she rebelled against, and heavily criticized, the catholic church back in the early 90s for all its evil deeds, and this was at a time when the catholic church still had major influence here in Ireland. I admired her so much for this. She wasn't afraid to call a spade a spade and boy did she know how to make a statement. She had her troubles but like the rest of us was only human at the end of the day. She was such a brilliant and unique talent. Another Irish legend is gone too soon! May her gentle soul rest in peace😢💔💔💔

I AM IMMOBILE WITH GRIEF!!! The first song I ever heard her sing was, "Nothing Compares 2 U"!! I've been a fan of hers for close to 40 years. Sinead has spoken truth to power when she told the Roman Catholic Church the truth about itself in regards to the sexual abuse of children. Yes, I did watch SNL when she tore up the picture of Pope John Paul, II!!! Long before news came of her passing, I was going to order her cd "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got". I'm still struggling to wrap my head around the fact that one of my favorite singers is not here anymore!! My prayers and condolences are going straight to her family. Shane McGowan is in the hospital at this time. I can't imagine what he's feeling right now. My deep prayer is that Sinead will finally have the peace that she was looking for all her life. I am so sad and sorry to hear this!! I have admired her so much. She was right about the moral turpitude of the Pope and the Church. She lost her only child, a teenaged son, to suicide. She didn't deserve the troubles she had.

I'm so sorry she went through child abuse. She literally sang her heart out to get noticed and loved from strangers but she really wanted it from her mother. She never got full closer from her mom and sadly her 17 year old son killed himself. I know we don't know yet the final details of her death, but i'm just saddened she went through so much. Last May, Sinead posted a picture of the 17-year-old as he photographed accompanied her as she received her second coronavirus vaccine with many fans noticing how similar they looked.
She was treated terribly by the Irish establishment and all she did was have the guts to tell the truth. The Irish people didn't back you up like they should soon enough but we were proud of you for standing up for what you believed was right at every turn. Safe travels, you will be missed x
