This song has been made for Dimash's unique range and abilities, check it out. You have to check Dimash's Kazakh songs, too. They are not only about the range but they are full of emotions showing his soul, too. (Adai+Daididau, Amanat, Samaltau, Qairan Elim...)
I offer a little information about the song "Sinful Passion". This song is old. She's over 20 years old. Music by Baigali Serkebayev, and the words to this song were written by the famous contemporary Russian poet Ilya Resnick, author of many Russian music hits The first performer of this song was a singer from Kazakhstan Batyrkhan Shukenov (he died in 2015). He didn't imitate the first performer. Dimash used all his phenomenal abilities and made a completely different interpretation of this song. I can't remember a single song where the singer changed 5 voices (from baritone to soprano) and 4 octaves in one song. And Dimash did it easily. At the end of the song, Dimash sang vocals for 22 seconds in one breath. Dimash tells a great story and draws us into it. Many viewers cry, others have chills. And all together they sit like under hypnosis.
Love is like I dream please by Dimash. You will get use to always being shocked by something. There are so many songs, trust me you will get a lot of recommendations.

Best place to go for his earlier stuff is the Singer contest from China in 2017. That’s where he launched into the stratosphere from. He starts the first episode as the first singer, he looked nervous as hell backstage but you’d never have guessed it from the front. He sang SOS, and overnight got 600 million views and needed bodyguards going forwards.
Episode 2 he sang Vitas’s Opera 2. It would be a good next view because he’s young and playful in it, no seriousness, just mischievous! Find the longer vid as it has subtitles, and also shows a glimpse of the real Dimash at the end being surprised by his dad. It’s lovely. If I find the link I’ll add it.

I’m from Brazil! For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song,
without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from
Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition,
the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally
performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani
pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer (to
whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his
name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together
with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in

That last note was 23 seconds with runs one breath. This performance, I believe, is 2019. He came to world recognition after I Am Singer in China 2017. Adagio from that show is outstanding, but opera two, Show Must Go On (both of those in English though the pronunciation then wasn’t so good, much better nowadays). But I like Confessa and the Diva Dance and Autumn Strong, particularly. Loved your calm and considered reaction.

I use to hear music but didn't pay attention really,just mouthed the words. But Dimash makes you not just hear it but actually listen. Big difference for me.

One thing about Dimash and the subject of tone changes which you mentioned first... yes, he's remarkable, and yes, you don't hear this done by most artists. I think partly not just because of technical issues, but (1) most songs are not written with room for variety, but 1 or 2 tempos in 1 style...set it and go. (2) Art/musicality: it is a classical-music standard approach to have variety in tone, color, range, and volume, but not in pop and other styles. Rare examples include ballads sung by Sinatra and Streisand (early for both) and some French singers, Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse.
But people have to THINK OF IT as a possibility they want to use.
For many, this variety doesn't occur to their thinking.
But the voice, even lesser-trained, can respond to imagination... but without an idea, nothing happens

Lol you ask for one or two suggestions. You will get an avalanche 🤪 many of his earlier songs have amazing backstories. He likes to perform songs with real meaning. Go to Gloria Wu’s channel as she has the backstory to many, sos, autumn strong, Daididau, and the most emotional Daybreak. That is a true story of a cable car crash in China. The parents of a little boy saved their child but they both lost their lives. A Chinese woman wrote a song in tribute to them. She later adopted that little boy Dimash heard it at just 10 years old and decided then that he would sing it in stage one day. He performed for the first time in the “Singer” show in China. He became good friends with the woman who wrote it and even spoke to her on the phone just before he went on He was very sick and lost his voice the day of the show. Had injections in his throat and went out and sang it. Many say his later concert version he sang better but I love his first version because he put so much of himself into. Check out Gloria Wu

Hi...new here after watching your Dimash reactions! Since you've discovered him, I'd like to also encourage you to explore an incredible
Chinese artist, Hua (pronounced "Hwah") Chenyu. You might especially like him since you're into rap/hip hop - he does his own version of "rap" in many of his songs, but he has an incredible voice and strong talent in composing. The best place to start with him, I think, is with his first performance on the Singer 2018 show (same show Dimash was on, the following season). He's performing his own song called Qi Tian, composed for a movie called Wu Kong, about the Monkey King (think Dragonball Z, etc). He is currently one of the biggest artists in China, and this song is just the tip of his talent. I hope you check him out.
Try the Olimpico performance of Ogni Pietra to experience a really wide vocal range. There are several versions - the one that showcases Dimash best opens with the audience waving lightsticks and does not (unfortunately) show the chorus on the spinning stage below him. But that chorus version has few close-ups of Dimash! And the fan cam version is rubbish...

This isn't what you asked for, but you might find it interesting to go back and listen to his older performances of SOS. The earliest one I found on line was in 2012, when he was only 17 years old. That he had the courage to try and the ability to hit the notes was astonishing. In 2015/2016 his voice and his control make a big shift - then there's the break-out performance in 2017 for I Am Singer. But he's still growing and changing and recording it, and each time he does, you can hear growth: either in voice/control, or in the artistic choices he's making. The most recent recording I know was released by Sister Cities International on 1/20/21 - and it's spectacular.
Welcome to the phenomenon that is Dimash. He started out in a Chinese competition The singer in 2017 and there are many songs to watch from that, I'd recommend Adagio and Autumn song. Newer songs I love are across endless dimensions, Screaming, Golden, Your love and we are one he recorded in the middle of the pandemic. This song he is performing was written by the band he is performing with. The singer from their group died and Dimash is singing as a tribute to him. He performs a funeral cry as part of the tribute. Thanks a ton for a reaction. If you wanna to see Dimash's earlier performances,.you should check Chinese 'I am singer" competition 2017 out. Dimash has participated there and became 2nd place because the winner should be only Chinese, so for Dears Dimash is the winner. You can see there Dimash's variety of performances and it is really an interesting journey. Good luck!

the guy in the white shirt standing in the audience is the famous song writer and composer Igor Krutoy.. he had retired and his mother heard one of dimah's song and insisted that he go to see him perform. krutroy became memorized by his voice and his personality they became friends . he came out of retirement just for dimash to compose and write the music and songs for just dimash and his unique voice.. there are videos where he is actually playing the piano for dimash... i have loved every second of dimash journey since 2017 when i first saw him perform... he's a loving and passionate god fearing country loving man... loves all mankind.. he speaks out for peace everywhere he goes... ty for your reaction.

We are here for your reaction and commentary, and they are much appreciated. Also, I don't know that they understand that you have to pause often to keep the video from getting copyright claimed/blocked.

Dimash needs the help of his fans to maintain his #1 position in requests on MTV's youtube channel weekly Friday Livestream. Those who can help should calculate their time zone differences and then tune in on Friday, June 25 (and most Fridays thereafter) from 5-8 pm New York time. Simply type REQUEST DIMASH as many times as possible in the chat during the three hour live broadcast. When Dimash receives the #1 most requests he gains the added benefit of being the only artist to have two of his songs played during the program.
Dimash has indicated that it is important to him to have success on music platforms like MTV so it should be important to those of us who love him as well. This is an easy and effective way to help him realize his dreams.

Just so you know, Dimash did not win I Am Singer, he came in second. But there is lots of speculation that he wouldn't win because he wasn't Chinese. Most of the other competitors were well established professionals from China. Dimash was invited as a wild card and was not expecting to last. He became wildly popular after singing his first song, SOS.
I should say all of the others were Chinese.

Go to CZcams and in search put in "The Singer 2017" w/ Eng. sub-titles and it will have all performances. There were also other singers who were very good as well, but, only one Dimash. It's almost like watching the evolution of Dimash.
Hola! Quite the experience eh? Next you gotta see Ogni Pietra and make to get subtitles on the fan cam version.. The words are so uplifting and inspiring. Written specifically for him, it will beautifully demonstrate his vocal range from baritone to soprano (male/female as you suggested) . It’s in Italian. FYI singers learn phonetically when it’s in another language. I think he's fluent in three so far.
Sorry, but I don't agree re: the fan cam version. The sound is terrible; Dimash even sounds terrible - it is that bad. There are much better versions available on Igor Krutoy's channel (for example) and elsewhere.

He wrote Ogni Pietra especially for Dimashs Vocals. ( You have already reacted to it) And came out of retirement to work with Dimash. They have a few astonishing collaborations. I think it matters less about how much u pause.. it’s just that he’s so masterful even the pauses & transitions & the *build up- u miss something when u pause & get out of it then return. Your 1st pauses did this, & in my opinion u miss some of the goosebumps effect. In my opinion, instead of worrying about how much u pause, if u simply always rewind a short bit, it flows better & u miss less. I find when reactors do this, regardless of how many times they pause- no one cares

I've always hated the camera work in the version that you just watched. I mean, who cuts away from the singer when he's doing a fabulous 22-second vocal run in the end. Plus in the fancam version, he has added a different ending to the song.
