Thanks John. Does the advice to 301 redirect image URLs when there are changes to the image also apply to size parameters? i.e. if changing the size of the image's dimensions, via a query string parameter on the image's CDN URL, should there be a 301 in that situation?
How big should the image file be? Or what dimensions or pixels? I want the photos to be crisp, but also load quickly.

My friend said me to use only that images which have a width of 1200 (height doesn't matter). So is there a point in using 1200 pixels width images or we can use any size of images we want?

Hey, you can see the image results in the performance section of GSC. You can see the impressions, clicks and position for different images that are assigned to the same URL.

For my own business (web development, UX design and complete web solutions), I really struggle with the typical images found on this types of websites. I'm all about creativity, communication and how we can make people feel so I use pictures of people, which don't exactly connect to web development but I find my clients love that. I need to redesign my own website as soon as I get a breather. What do you suggest?

What helps me stand apart from my competitors is my personal approach. However this is not what I see on websites for Web development. Very impersonal. Large part of me this, I don't care if I never rank and I'm creating for my users however if anyone has suggestions, I'm open to them.
Give you an idea of my crazy approach, I finally kicked off my YT only 10mths after setting it up 😂 and a fun approach to WHY image size matters. It really got my clients on board at long last 👌🏻

Visual impairment Google says have plenty of room around images. In images the button is right next to image....in this maps presentation example
Image search is very useful but it leaks a few key features namely a bigger database for faster and enhanced findings thru an app that can scan all consented pictures on a phone, this removes the hassle of losing time with uploading the pictures on various selling sites for exposure, this way the offers becomes way richer

Q) Advice for dealing with website owners and other devs obsessed with speed over UX and content. Am I right standing always user first and delivering what they expect even if it slows things a bit once you optimise as best as possible. I work with a lot of visual based businesses...... Hello I have a shop on line with product pages . Each produt page contains images of the product (I sale clothes) When I type in google images the name of the product I can see the images. But when I click on the images all images go the the shop and not on the product page of the item. All my images have titles legend ....alt Why do my images don't open the product page ? Thanks

Can you elaborate on "we suggest using images WHERE they add value to the page?" The wording is confusing. Do you mean " place images in locations within the content of your page in ways that will provide value to users" or do you mean "only use images that add value to the page?" The word "where" seems to suggest that you're talking about the placement of the images on the page, rather than something about the types of images you're using.
I think he means both. a) Adding only the relevant images to the page b) Adding the images to those sections where they make more sense for a user.
