that brand is probably "america's favorite tie-dye" because it's the only one i've ever seen lol. it's easier to avoid the beading *and* over-saturation if you start with the fabric already wet! also you are correct to be proud of actually getting a spiral lol

That's not how I remember doing it in the 70's.
That brand is not the only one but it is the only one with kits in the stores that I have seen.
I get my dyes from Dharma Trading. You can but each color seperatly or but their lots.

You should try natural dyeing!!! I’m learning about it in one of my textiles class and it is so amazing and incredibly easy. Would love to see how you experience the process!!

Whenever I see a semi attractive woman my jaw pops out of its socket and falls to the ground, my tongue rolls out like the red carpet, and my eyes buldge out of my head. Then I have the sudden urge to pull out a gigantic hammer and pound it into the top or my skull over and over and over again leaving long lasting damage, then suddenly completely out of my control I say "Now thats a dame!" It all turned out so good !! I especially loved the green spiral, my fave colours and tie dye designs !
I was a kid in the 70s, so we did so much tie dye back then....it looks a lot neater with all the squeeze bottles and pre-portioned dyes and such.

Shibori, I think that's Arashi is a fave of mine too 😍 Yanagi is beautiful too! I used to dye a lot a year ago. Now do a lot of botanical dyeing and would totally recommend ! You can use kitchen scraps like avocado skins/seeds, onion skins, tumeric, red cabbage, pomegranate skins to dye natural fibre fabrics 🍃 the natural colours that can be produced are beautiful and to me have an earthiness and richness to it which I love. All you need is a mordant (something to help bond the dye to the fabric) like soy milk, I'd recommend an ebook by Rebecca Desnos if you're keen 😁💛

This is perfect because I ordered tie dye a week ago for a project. I started making a hoodie lounge set and immediately realised I thought the just grey look would be boring 😂 and the barbie shirt looked so cool I might try that technique

I’ve tye dyed a few times and I love it! You’re creations came out great 👍 a soak in soda ash can be helpful for getting a bit more definition in your color. If you don’t have soda ash a simple soak in water will help get the colors to just sink in. Great job Wendy!
