- Here’s a somewhat quick walkthrough I did when we dropped my buddies Silverado. We used a kit from Belltech. The quality of the kit was great. The quality of the truck, not as great, lol.

Watching that caliper hang from that brake line makes me nervous 😅
Great video, lots of useful information! Thank you for posting it..
Beautiful Truck 🤘🏻
That’s clean af bro !!!
That hub bearing sounded bad when you turned it. I would have replaced those while I was doing the drop, especially if they’re the originals.
Hopefully we will get more videos on this truck
Nice blue truck 👍
Thanks man I used this vid to 5/8 drop my sierra.
Looks good, that gen was lower than newer. Tub it out no problem w/22s
Pretty Cool to see my old truck I built on CZcams
Not a bad little truck. My buddy’s been having a lot of fun with it.
I would have replaced them wheel bearings.
What's sides shock are for from and on the back thank look awesome
what size is the tires ?
On the drop did your drive shaft hit the ground?
What is the wheel specs
Have a question ? What is the difference between this kit (single cab short bed) and the extended cab kit ??
Nothing but the frame size might be different
@SpeedyCanuck Nice job man. Thanks for making this video. I bought this c notch and will be using with a 2/4 drop. I noticed when you had the template up the original bump stop was not in the center of the notch. The kit moves the bump stop further to the rear. Why? Can I use it with a 4” drop without the flip kit?
I don’t know why it wasn’t centered. But it all seemed to work out fine. I’m not sure you’re able to get a 4” drop on those trucks without doing the flip kit. I feel like the hanger only gets you about 2”. And I believe it helps with your pinion angle as well.
@@averagedadsgarage yeah the drop kit I used has 2” drop hangers and 2” drop shackles. I wonder if the bump stop is moved further to the rear due to the flip kit leaf spring pins
Did replacing that leaf spring fix the issue of the diff leaning to one side like that when jacked up?
After replacing the broken leaf, it leaned the other way. lol. The rear suspension is being replaced this spring with something that can handle power.
Did you have any front Camber Issues with such a Low Drop ????
Yes. We could see the fronts have some camber to them. The truck went into storage for the winter shortly after we lowered it. So an alignment hasn’t been done yet. It’s getting one in the spring, and we’ll see how much can be corrected. I’m expecting it to always have a bit of camber unless we get into changing out control arms.
@@averagedadsgarage have you done the alignment on it? And did it fix the camber issue?
@@osvaldo0593 I would imagine its able to be ironed out so to speak in the alignment. this Belltech kit utilizes the oem suspension control arm and should retain factory suspension geometry but honestly id call Belltech and ask them if there is weird alignemt issues can can arise when lowering.
What year did you get the HD hood off of????????
99-02 2500HD year models
Mi truck is 5/7 drop and is perfect 👌
Any chance you still have the notch plate that you didn’t use?
Pretty sure we scrapped it.
@@averagedadsgarage that’s the one I’ve got to have mine is the 5” inch dimpled frame.
What engine does it have? 5.3 or 4.8???
Sad little 4.8. Soon to be changed out for something a lot more rowdy.
After having a cutting wheel come apart on me about a month ago, and subsequently breaking my finger....I cringed super hard watching you cut without a guard and having your face so close. I had my guard off too and it is now back on.
nice
Do you need a custom sway bar link?
Nope.
Where did you get yours?
I was trying to use my oem ones but they were too long.
My buddy just went to the local parts store and bought the factory replacements. Haven’t had any problems.
How much would this labor usually cost?
It does take time to do a job like this. A shop could charge a couple grand.
@@averagedadsgarage not even bro these jobs are around 700$ but anyways great detailed video
It took me 2 days to lower front and rear taking my time its not too bad of a job.You definitely need help with rear axle though. Take care
im paying 2000 total for a complete 5/8 drop with a under bed notch on a extended cab silverado, it has a 3 inch lift right now
Well ....maybe in canada its expensive. Houston, where like 35% of the population is scrapeing😁😁 700$ labor avg !!!
What size tire and wheel?
265/35/22
@@averagedadsgarage thank you!! Truck looks great.
Looking good. But I think them wheels gotta go 👌
Fr
Whow,
Curb rash.
To low 4/6 is better stance
Never lower. Higher better. Give me a lift package. That's All!
You prefer a lifted 2wd?
Cant you just roll the front fenders too and keep the 5in drop in the front?
Not with the way these Chevs are designed. You would have to lose the inner fenders if you want to roll the outer.
