  • Here is my unboxing and installation of my CVF Racing serpentine conversion for my Epic 64 Malibu SS. It's going on my over bored 350 small block motor. Been wanting this forever and finally got it.

    I just bought the Billet Specialties kit for $470 which includes the power steering pulley. I actually like the look of the CVF stuff better. I think Billet Specialties goes a bit overboard on the look of their pulleys. I only chose the Billet Specialties kit because it uses the threaded rods for belt tensioning.

      @Epic64SS  Před 3 lety

      yup, I liked the design of the Billet Spec stuff better than the CVF, But I wanted the 8 rib belts not the 6

    The spacers you talked about are for the water pump demanding on their height and which water pump you have.

      Im glad they sent them with it, some pumps apparently do not

    Did you ever go with a power Steering pump? I have the same kit on a 1980 Chevrolet, blaser With a saganaw P series pump and I can't get the pulley to fit It appears the shaft On the power steering pump is to wide. Did you have to press it on? I thought it would just slide over because it is the keyway style pump.

    • @Epic64SS
      @Epic64SS  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I did not use a press on pump, my cvf pulley slid right on the held on with a nut

      @@Epic64SS Thank you. Mine is the same style. keyway with a bolt so I'm assuming either the plating is to thick or I got something else going on. Appreciate the info.

    Do u put the balancer bolt& washer in first then the pullie?

    • @Epic64SS
      @Epic64SS  Před 3 lety

      I used the balancer bolt to install the balancer, you could use it but i removed it , then put the main pulley on, Its a press fit so dont really need the bolt

    so for this kit does it require a reverse water pump or does it have to be a standard v belt water pump cause i already put a reverse pump.

    • @Epic64SS
      @Epic64SS  Před rokem

      It's not a true serpentine, so standard rotation

    Every water pump pulley I have ever bought came with a spacer shim. Its common. March Performance gives you spacers. Id like to know how well the belt has stayed on not having a tensioner?
