First time mom to a one month old and I struggled with breastfeeding for the first two weeks, it left me feeling sad, worried and scared for my baby. It's terrible to feel like your baby is not getting enough to eat, while depending on you. Now, though the feeding is better, I'm still dealing with the anxiety that the problems will come back or that my baby won't be OK. We really need to talk about the emotional and practical help that new moms need, specially regarding feeding.
Just hang in there. Trust me it keeps getting better. Your body automatically produces the right amount of milk for ur baby. Its like magic 😄😄 just keep doing ur things, you’re rocking thid mamma!!!

Malvika, while listening to you speak your heart out about breast feeding, I can completely relate to you. I myself am going through the same with a one month old baby. Breast feeding is hard and at the end of the day it exhausts you. On top of that you don’t even know whether your baby is filling up on the milk or not.
I want to thank you for saying it out loud that we are all in the same boat.
I agree with everything you said. Had no clue that breastfeeding was so exhausting. Add lack of sleep to the equation.
My friend had horrible breastfeeding experience. Her baby just wouldn't latch. It reached a point where the baby was hungry and irritated and her milk supply also dwindled. She tried for 3 months then switched completely to formula, too. It was hard to watch the baby hungry and crying and the mother getting crushed in mom guilt.

I have been watching your videos since years... Have been a great fan of your vlogs... But professionally being a lactation counsellor I just don't really appreciate the way you are normalizing use of formula and bottle feeds.... Understand that that even the ads for formulas are banned by the health ministry..there must be some clinical evidence to that?
You do you.. Great that you are choosing things that suits well for you.. And one should..But from last couple of videos it's been just formula saves life..*4 times
If you choose formula be ready for its side effects.. If you didn't get it, your baby didn't get don't assume no baby would..
If you choose bottle -nipple confusion cries are for real, struggle of weaning baby from bottle, oral thrush are real
If you choose breastfeeding.. - again it's a skill which has its own set of challanges,
People discuss it with professionals and decide what suits them the best.. But please stop normalizing the things that you are choosing to practice especially use of formula.. Without any clinical knowledge!

Happy to hear you talk about this ❤️..There is a lot of criticism around mothers who do not breastfeed and I really wish people get more open to let mothers decide what is best for their mental health so that they can keep their child happy. I went through a painful journey of IVF to conceive and decided post 2 months of delivery to completely stop breast feeding. I have no guilt around it
I wonder how and why people who can work from home decide to stop breastfeeding even if they have enough milk supply..it's such a blessing for the baby to get the breastfeed. Yes it is very exhausting..but I know the feeling when you want to breastfeed but couldn't as there is less milk supply. Formula is the best option for breastmilk but why..if you have enough milk..🥺

I had 2 c section. It was so hard to recover from a major surgery and be constantly available and breast feed your child .The first time around . I would suffer in silence . The cracked nipple, the bleeding , the painful latching. In my head I used to think I should probably switch to formula because my mental health was taking a nose dive, but the people around me was like nooo the child needs breast milk only. I carried on for 6 months and then I just couldn't. I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and it was a dark and lonely place.
The isolation that new mom's go through is horrendous. Everyone is fussing over the well being of the baby that the mom is neglected.
The breastfeeding journey was so traumatic that I took a little time form an attachment to my baby. It wasn't love at first sight or instant connection that people talk about. It took time and now she is the love of my life.
My 2nd one ,baby boy also struggled with latching and I started getting those depressing thoughts, but this time around I had a toddler who needed me too.
On day 3 I decided enough, I will switch to formula. My husband was my pillar of support. I'm so so glad I took that decision cause I did not go into PPD . I was mentally stable to look after both the kiddos. Yes people did sing the same song about how breast milk is the only way , the child will not develop well etc😂.
Well my bub started walking at the end of 6 months , he started running at 8 months and now he is a smart energetic, 1 and half year old.
My advice to new mom's is to do what feels right for you and your baby. There will always be a lot of opinions , but it's imperative you take a decisions that's healthy for both of you not just for the baby❤

I totally agree with you with rest of the things except that the baby started walking on 7months and running by 8,9 months , Formula fed babies are faster than I thought, its my personal experience though.A happy mom can raise a happy child, when will people understand. Let the mother decide whats best for the child.
I can totally relate with you Mals, I was so guilty of giving top feed to my baby girl because my milk supply dropped suddenly by 3 months and any method I tried din't increase my supply. I used to be so tired during the night in those early months and had constant lower back pain still used to wake up in middle of night to feed in order to increase my supply. I am from a nuclear family and dint have anyone to support me all the time, finally I made the decision to switch to total formula by 4 1/2 months. My baby is 8 months now and absolutely perfect and growing well. So yes formula is not bad at all, MOMs should not feel guilty and not over stress themselves.
What formula is best can u plz suggest me
@@MADEBYDEEPA The pediatrician will prescribe whats best for the baby. My Pedi suggested Enfamil, but it was not suiting my baby, she had spit ups, I then switched to Aptamil, this is working very well for her.

It’s oly another month or month an half after tat child will understand the routine and will get adjusted to you.. try doing this feed from easy way for first 10 minutes wen u think shes almost full switch to side where she doesn’t latch.. or feed her before she’s hungry with tat side where she doesn’t latch.. sometimes it worked for me with my daughter
the mums who r going through it ,can understand her.she is not all exaggerating.
I relate so much with Mals. I went through the same scenario. My baby took bottle in initial days and then she gave up on bottle and till date its just breast feeding. I am blessed to be working from home and now that my baby takes solid food too.. but oh god 6 months were tough really tough. Mals. U got it Babe. And Abby AWW BABY u r soo soo cute

I am a mother of 3 and wanna give just a bit of advice...wear full coverage clothes ( full sleeve tshirts n pyjamas etc) as u are breastfeeding and having a cold ..so the baby also needs to be covered properly and you too .

It's a growth spurts its really draining there will be multiple growth spurts till one year but it's temporary, give her a slight massages in day time, baby will feel relaxed a bit and take naps.

Breastfeeding is the hardest thing I ever did. I used to think its so natural for some people why not me. I had the guilt when she couldn't latch. I tried seeing the specialist for that but nothing worked and my supply was close to nothing even when I pumped alot. I tried for month and half then completely stopped. I was happier, baby was thriving with full tummy. I got shamed alot for it though but I didn't't care. My daughter is 4 now and has very strong immunity, very healthy and active. I don't know why we put so much pressure on ourselves. Next time around I will definitely try bf first but i wont mind switching to formula if it doesnt work out. My daughter started sleeping so good when she was full on formula, opnly woke up twice per night which was life changing.

Just a suggestion for ur little one: since she is 2 month old now, it is recommended that you donot put mittens anymore . Please have alook into it.
Also there is no harm in kissing your baby but I would recommend not kissing while you are unwell with sore throat urself as it could be viral infection and you dont want your baby to get thr virus and suffer unnecessarily. ❤

You can try ‘ pegeon slow flow bottle ‘ for one week. She will definitely take it . Mine refused it for5 days. I made her practice everyday , looking at her eyes c telling her stories n all. Finally , on the 8th day she took it like a pro.

Expecting us to produce milk as much as women from older generation is v unrealistic. With all the stress we go through our work life personal life everything is v different from that gen with a few exceptions ofc. We have to do what we need to do to make sure those cutie angels are well fed no matter what . Only moms will know that with all due respect to every other relatives out there.

Here to relive my early mommy days ...Sore, bleeding nipples for the first two months😢.... Initially my feed was less but it slowly came in.. Breastfed for 2 years before weaning him off, kiddo turned 9 recently 😊

Ezekiel loved from one boob , but over a period I realised it's not the breast, it's the position they are feeding; so try to feed from both breasts but in the same position .
(The way she is put feeding boob the same position . It will be difficult for u to hold her , but the feeding pillow will help a lot). Try n let me know

I want to give the bottle but then I draw my hand back and again try my baby is hungry many times
But now I’ve just switched to bottle and breast feeding both so that she has at least few full meals
Idk my whole day is about feeding and feeding right and then pumping and then counting full diapers keeping potty count

You should be grateful to god coz u have delivered a healthy baby inspite of parting ways and all the depression taking over with u , I lost both my babies at 26 weeks due to preterm delivery it’s been a year and I am still not able to get over with it !

U still had option to terminate it rather than crying about it now !

Yes they get to know the difference between nipple and bottle.. But this phase will pass.. happened with me too.. then she took the bottle.. and then again after 7.5 months not taking the bottle.. So still trying 😅

Actually u could have worn a mask while breastfeeding her .. you passed on the virus.. But its okay.. It gets passed on the babies really fast.. you have to really control kissing that cute face.. I faced the same .. took so much care while breastfeeding but she still got it.. get well soon guys
When the mother or baby is sick breast milk produces antibodies to help fight it. So it’s going to be ok. During covid also mothers were advised to feed the baby even when they have covid.
