Integral of cos(sqrt(t)) / sqrt(t)

  • In this video, I will show you how to solve the indefinite integral of cos(sqrt(t)) / sqrt(t) square root using u substitution. This is an important topic for students taking Calculus, whether it is AP Calculus or Calculus in university. The idea behind u-substitution is to simply the integrand. For example, we can simplify 1/(2x+4) with 1/u where u=2x+4. The second step is to differentiate u with respect to x, then plug it into the integral and solve it. It is crucial that you master basic integration for future math courses.
    In calculus, integration by substitution, also known as u-substitution, reverse chain rule or change of variables, is a method for evaluating integrals and antiderivatives. It is the counterpart to the chain rule for differentiation, and can loosely be thought of as using the chain rule "backwards".
