I love how people refuse to not call this Frolf. If we somehow ever get a sequel or remake, it needs to put Frolf in the title.

This just screams odd early 2000's Japanese game that everyone seems to slightly remember energy. Whatever Namco and Bandai were smoking back then made some real gems.
Yeah, this era has tons of jank, but also tons of amazing games.
Drakengard, Kingdom Hearts, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus, and yes, Ribbit King

I absolutely loved this game as a kid, and then nobody ever talked about it from then on. It's been my mission in life to get people to play this. You can imagine my reaction when this popped up in the feed.
The art style is just so fun and cute, the music is weirdly good, it's janky in all the right ways ("the winner is: this player!"), it's just a hidden gem.

I was lucky to have this game as a kid, so seeing Vinny play it is making all the memories come back. Cool to see he's utilizing the gameplay mechanics like the combo, stamina, and item systems pretty well given he's a first-time player. A multiplayer match where the players utilize all of these systems is something to behold.
Also, chat member is the only reason I learned this was a sequel to a Japan-only PSX game. Cool.

Very glad Vinny finally got around to this one. Ribbit King is one of my childhood favorites and is honestly one of my top 5 favorites in general.

This game is a major part of my childhood. My dad and I played it for hours on the ps2 and it got him interested in golf strategy games. I still love everything about this game its so fun and scratches a little part of my brain.

A childhood classic that few people besides me seem to remember. I freakin' loved Ribbit King, it was a fun spin on golf (Frolf) that I found amusing. Hope this game gets more love because it's rare asf.

I think vin may be playing at an upscaled resolution in Dolphin. It makes the edges of polygons very crisp.

I genuinely thought Vinny had already played this and I’m not sure why
I purchased this game as a kid after trading in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Pikmin 1 into Gamestop in 5th grade after sneaking into a crackhead's cabin behind my friend's house in 2004. We didn't find anything except poop napkins and needles, but I went to Gamestop afterwards. Very vivid memory.
The game is just stupid enough to be fun, especially with friends who were just as stupid as you. The inclusion of a second disc for cutscenes and collectibles makes me think it might've originally been a N64DD game or just didn't realize the Gamecube's limitations, but I have fond memories of it regardless. Fun Fact: That crackhead's cabin is still there about 20 years later. Wild.

This is a game I played when I was really little (and even still play it now!) that I fell in love with. It drove me crazy that hardly anyone seemed to acknowledge it. Of course that's a somewhat different story online, but its still pretty obscure. It makes me incredibly happy to see this game get love, especially from Vinny.

This was a game that was an oblivious gift from my grandparents to my sister, who wasn’t and still isn’t, into games. She tried it though, got stuck and summoned me to try and figure it out. Something clicked in my head that said “I need to beat this weird-ass game” and I did. I felt nothing except wondering what just happened.
My favourite game to play with my partner is Ribbit King. Coincidentally, the day this stream was uploaded to CZcams was also me and my partner’s three year anniversary. It was quite the unexpected spectacular anniversary present!
Whenever I hear "Dressing Room" I just imagine this fucking shame chamber filled with different kinds of dressing and a ranch fountain.

I got excited when I saw this video because I always saw this at Blockbuster and I never rented it but it always seemed so weird I was intrigued by it.
This game was my very first GameCube game. I got it for Christmas with my GameCube and I have very fond memories of this game. I still own the game and even to this day it still such an absolute gem.
Fantasy golf games are some of my absolute favorite games.

They're all just the right amounts of fun, relaxing, and exciting. If anyone made a new fantasy golf game (possibly with anime booba) it'd be a massive hit. The market hungers and there's a huge void after Pangya closed all it's servers (Except Thailand) and the latest Mario Golf kinda floundered.

Nope, you're correct! Lara Jill Miller. She's in lots of things, like Kari from Digimon, Fink from OKKO, Clifford as a puppy, and tons more.
