Good idea 💡 for people who don't have a lot of money to buy a new drill or the replacement component because it's a one-piece job on that the carbon brushes are internal with the motor so that would have to be replaced but the fact you did it without having to replace that is cool
I just bought a bosch ps41 in a combo kit. The sparks are a no go. I work in boat bilges where vapor could be present. This thing is brand new and it just started doing it.
@NateJones-tk9fb sparks in a brand new tool have 2 reasons, Either the carbon brushs didn't take the curved shape of the comutator " yet" , and this will disappear soon. Or because of brake function, which only is visible when u stop only, and this is normal
I still notice tiny sparks when stopping. Is this normal behavior for even new drills? My drill generates tiny sparks too when I let go of the trigger and stop abruptly
The brushes on the motor is constantly in contact with the rotating shaft…hence due to friction there might be spark…. If the brushes are clean and even then this won’t happen

Yes , because of 2 reasons,
1 -is the carbon brush is new, and it hasn't printed enough on the commutator yet.
2- is the clutch system, when it stop
