This reminds me of the loss of who I consider to be my "one true love". She's still alive as far as I know but, gone just the same. I lost touch with her over 20 years ago so, I really don't know for sure but, I'd like to think she is doing well. While I was in the military, I was stationed almost 900 miles away. Even though I got home as often as possible to spend time with her, somewhere along the line she drifted way from me. +Russell Purcell I know how you feel but then I had a twist of fate and I found out my love, my soul mate, my other half was not dead as I thought but was very much alive, you see my mom didn't like him and his mom didn't like me so they came up with me being told he was killed in a car accident when he came back to Nebraska to find us as in me and our 2 year old son, when I found out that he was here and didn't find us I went and bought bus tickets for us, then I was told about him getting killed so I returned the tickets and got my money back!! But the grief, it was real, so real I almost died from it!! Well he was told when he got back that our son and I were killed, we both spent 23 years thinking to other one was dead!! Thank God for my daughter-in-law because she found him and we have reconnected and he still is the love of my life and my soul mate!! I know my story is not like yours but for that 23 years, we will never get that time back!! Since we both thought each other was dead we did both remarry and we both divorced and he is now in a very rocky marriage and he's not sure what is going to happen there but any way, we were in a lot of ways lucky and the best was finding out the other was still alive, and then you go through another complete set of emotions!! My best friend passed away at the age of 14 after her long battle with cancer. She left me to soon but she will surely be with me forever. I miss her everyday but I only get one step closer to her. I can't wait to see her again.
We are so blessed as Rascal Flatts has always gifted us with the songs that go straight to our hearts. We lost a dear friend, Matthew, who lived on LA's Skid Row. My daughter, Summer, visited and ministered to him, leading him to our Lord and he was saved. The chains of drug addiction plagued him and many tried to help him. But, it wasn't drugs that led to his death this past Wednesday - he had a congenital birth defect that weakened his immune system drastically. He had been feeling ill and congested. They found that he had so much water in his lungs - pneumonia. He truly loved Summer for her compassion and unconditional love. We too loved him and even wanted to adopt him although he was in his early twenties...such a short tragic life, living in a cardboard box on Skid Row. He refused a tent. The police and coroner found him lying in the middle of the street. He was so gentle, smart and kind - but we would never have the time to save him...his body just gave out. It wasn't long enough. This reminds me of the loss of who I consider to be my "one true love". She's still alive as far as I know but, gone just the same. I lost touch with her over 20 years ago so, I really don't know for sure but, I'd like to think she is doing well. While I was in the military, I was stationed almost 900 miles away. Even though I got home as often as possible to spend time with her, somewhere along the line she drifted way from me.

Makes me think of both my Grandpas. Both died in January of '11, not too long before I got to graduate. My favorite part of this song is from 0:00 to 0:05. I have no idea why, but those chimes are just so emotional and depressing to me. It doesn't sound like any part of the rest of the song, doesn't sound like it's any specific melody, yet, it's the part that just makes me feel sad and gets me to start and think the most. It's a sad hopeful sound. Sort of like how I'm hopeful that the love of my life would one day come back, knowing well that she's already happy and better off with somebody else, yet I remain, alone, broken, thinking what we had wasn't long enough together, but was long enough to last forever. Toughest and most challenging year of my life. I lost him and gained a son. My son was born 2 months later. I have two boys now, Bentley is going on 9 months and Logan who is 6 years old. My father loved his grandson Logan. I wish he had the chance to meet Bentley. But I feel like Bentley was my saving grace to get me though. I was 7 months pregnant when I lost my father out of no where. Bentley, and Logan of course, were my reasons to get through that time.

As I move on I see myself comparing everyone I meet to her. It is not fair to do that, but when you are blessed by Heaven with someone like her it is almost impossible not to compare everyone else with her. +Russell Purcell I know how you feel but then I had a twist of fate and I found out my love, my soul mate, my other half was not dead as I thought but was very much alive, you see my mom didn't like him and his mom didn't like me so they came up with me being told he was killed in a car accident when he came back to Nebraska to find us as in me and our 2 year old son, when I found out that he was here and didn't find us I went and bought bus tickets for us, then I was told about him getting killed so I returned the tickets and got my money back!! But the grief, it was real, so real I almost died from it!! Well he was told when he got back that our son and I were killed, we both spent 23 years thinking to other one was dead!! Thank God for my daughter-in-law because she found him and we have reconnected and he still is the love of my life and my soul mate!! I know my story is not like yours but for that 23 years, we will never get that time back!! Since we both thought each other was dead we did both remarry and we both divorced and he is now in a very rocky marriage and he's not sure what is going to happen there but any way, we were in a lot of ways lucky and the best was finding out the other was still alive, and then you go through another complete set of emotions!! I know it wasn't long enough but unfortuntionally for some it has to last forever!! God Bless, Have Faith, when you least expect it God will put someone in your life again!!

We are so blessed as Rascal Flatts has always gifted us with the songs
that go straight to our hearts. We lost a dear friend, Matthew, who
lived on LA's Skid Row. My daughter, Summer, visited and ministered to
him, leading him to our Lord and he was saved. The chains of drug
addiction plagued him and many tried to help him. But, it wasn't drugs
that led to his death this past Wednesday - he had a congenital birth
defect that weakened his immune system drastically. He had been feeling
ill and congested. They found that he had so much water in his lungs -
pneumonia. He truly loved Summer for her compassion and unconditional
love. We too loved him and even wanted to adopt him although he was in
his early twenties...such a short tragic life, living in a cardboard box
on Skid Row. He refused a tent. The police and coroner found him lying
in the middle of the street. He was so gentle, smart and kind - but we
would never have the time to save him...his body just gave out. It
wasn't long enough. Thank you for this song. It means so much to us. God
