But fair play to Joe for training Okolie, cause that seems like a sentence worse than death being responsible for tryna change his style as he moves up in weight. But happy to be proven wrong cause Okolie does get a lot of stick, albeit most of it being warranted imo.

If the very best version of Fury turns up, the older pre-Sugarhill style, lighter, faster, herky-jerky Fury, then he should win.
Casuals are ten-a-penny nowadays, haven't been watching boxing for more than a few years, never boxed themselves, and just love trolling youtube with bullshit comments.
Usyk is a fantastic fighter, and always comes into fights in top shape.
So, it's down to Fury to step up, and be at his best. If he does, he should win.

Fury is by no means underrated. He is rated as he is, inconsistent. He is the best when he shows up, but unimpressive when he doesnt. You dont know which version you'll get. To cement his greatness he simply needs to show up the 18th and beat Usyk. Then noone will be able to deny that he is the best in the division - and probably always was.
But because he has chosen to pick fights few or noone wanted, he still needs to prove himself if he wants to be recognized as the greatest of his generation.

Generally amongst the public maybe not, but at this point amongst the hardcores some of the critics are so over the top you'd think he's some bum. Funny world boxing, hardcores are biggest recency bias around to the point the casuals often have the most fair assessment.

@@dufud Its easy. Fury and a lot of his fanboys will say "best of this generation" when he is yet to fight, and has purposefully swerved the other top fighters. So thats overrating him. One clever snatch and run defeat of Klitschko and running from the rematch full of "boar meat" and beating the only other fighter more overrated than him in Wilder does not make him the best of anything. So he's overrated. A very good fighter, but not the best now or in the past. If he beats Usyk and Joshua then he has a shout for best of this era.

To be fair there's hardly any experts picking Usyk and the ones that are mostly dislike Fury!
There are a few British fighters picking Usyk that don’t appear to have anything against Fury, they just simply recognise Usyk’s abilities rightly so and get labelled haters by triggered Fury fans for having honest opinions (which is hilarious 😂). Then there are those that aren’t Tyson’s mates or former trainers that appear to genuinely think he will win, but half the time they do add the caveat that they’re backing him because he’s a fellow Brit - which kind of takes away the integrity of their predictions 🤦🏻♂️
The rest ie vast majority are either Tyson’s buddies or people that are too afraid to fall out with Tyson (GAD, Spencer Oliver etc etc), the UK boxing scene is small and clicky and people like Gareth A Davies-Fury are terrified of being banished from the elite UK boxing circle as it’d be journalistic suicide to him. Still, he has no balls to say what he really thinks so it’s understandable why so many have no interest in his thoughts, he’s a quintessential ass licker.
People lapping up the words of every ex trainer of Fury that’s backing the big guy - well no shit his old friends and associates are going to back Fury, it’s hardly a surprise! Compare that with Russ Anber who has worked with Usyk for years who’s very complimentary about Fury - he gives a much more balanced and credible view of how the fight could pan out rather than ‘a good big one beats a good little one’ (Usyk isn’t a good little one though, he’s and exceptional little one).
Brits are just blindly loyal to the degree of not being honest, not even worth listening to if there’s no objectivity in what they say!
