I have the ten inch version and it bangs crazy on a 500 watt skar amp. Like ridiculous. I think the biggest advantage to a sub set up like this is that it is tuned already for low frequency, and it is LIGHT WEIGHT. So perfect for a smaller car or application where you don't want a big heavy giant box in your trunk. I have mine in the back of my Audi RS3 and its best sounding sub I've had in years.
People don't like the old stuff only want new ones I've always had tubes for my car's. I hear people tell me if you get a better box it will sound better than the tubes because I used 12inch PVC pipes 1/2inch thick. For low 500 wattage stereo system. I like the sound of tubes. For the size of the tube over the boxes.
Hey ,EXCELLENT video like the way ya explains everything in detail, came across yr page doing research on this cause just purchased this thanks for all the help really appreciated
I love mine bug i get a lot of coil smell when the notes get too low, looking at a skar audio amo cause i think my memphis might be running dirty power 🤷🏼♂️
Nice ! Quick question: I know alot of people give taramps crap for SQ when comparing to korean amp but it all comes down to tweaking the input signal with DSP. What changes did you make on the sub channel of your dsp to bring the best sound out of the smart 5 ?were the only changes setting a crossover point of 60/80hz at a -24db slope ? Asking because I am considering a smart 8 for my two zv5 15's. Thanks !
I've changed the crossover slope, I've chanbes the EQ of the signal coming in. I've tuned the box lower to make it more musical in general. I've time aligned it and blended it with the midbass as best I can. It sounds pretty dang good
Well. I've got a few old bass tubes. And I mean old. Including bazooka, Jensen, a rockford octagon, pyramid, and a pyle pounder. They range from 8 to 12 inch. All the manufacturers do the same. The tubes are to small and have incredibly bad port speeds and a really bad roll off. I have an old bloapunkt 10 that I built a custom tube for that has a forward firing port that helped but still has a bad roll off at lower hz due to port speed. I can't see skar being any different. I have an all skar system that sounds good. But then again so does my rf. Dc audio, sounstream, orion, and db systems. Building a sundown next. I even have an old arc audio in my 68 ford f100. It still sounds good. My modo is play with it till you get it how you want it. The 40 ford deluxe is getting the sundown.
Great video I just bought one my amp is rated at 450rms at 4 ohms is there a way to wire this sub up at a 4 ohm load I could run my amp at one ohm but my amp would push 900 watts rms at 12.5 volts and I'm sure that wouldn't be a good idea for long term plus I'm not looking for crazy bass Thanks
Yes. Open it up and change the wiring. Wire a jumper cables between 1 positive and 1 negative terminal and then plug the other negative and positive cable to amp
Will a 8 guage amp kit push this???? I currently have a p-300 12 in a 23 civic hatchback sport i like the p300 but i wonder if this will be better than the sealed 12. Fosgates like jl they are pricey. Is this musical??
Hey I was just wondering do you full til ur sundown? Because now my truck is not opening no more and I don’t know how to fix that lol. Have you ever had an issue with that?
I got a Skar audio ZVX-12-2 sub the 1 ohm version mounted into a ground shaker bass tube And power by Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bdcp power let me tell you my ears can’t handle the bass because it gets extremely loud
Thanks so much for sharing this comment! I've been thinking hardcore about getting a ground shaker tube because I think it will fit better in my Ford Explorer. I currently have a Skar DDX 12 @ 1ohm on a CT sounds 1000.1 in skar's 12 ported box. I was nervous. I might lose some bass responsiveness, but maybe not!
This gives me a throwback to the old bazooka tube subwoofer I liked the fact bazooka tubes had a built in amp
The Rockville bass tube has the built in amps as well.

i got the 8 and it bumps hits the chest i have it matched with 4 skar audio 6x9 tx69 in the doors
Sounds good, the woofer design looks better than regular skar subs.
Agreed
thanks for the video...thinking about putting one of these in the Giulia Im about to buy
Got the 12 in skar bass tube and the rp350.1 monoblock amp they are perfect together sounds like 2 12's in the 2013 lmpala ltz
That's what I have. It does sound amazing.
I got the 800 watt amp with mine

Cool I've been wondering about these for a while! I saw an 8" version on Marketplace cheap with no sub and almost picked it up for a fun project lol
They're pretty good
I appreciate the review was planning on getting one for my wife's car
Very much worth it
Hopefully you can make more car subwoofer videos definitely different
I've made a lot in the past and always will
@@Kpaceguy it's nice to see you doing car audio cause I also wanna get into car audio
I have tons of it on the channel
Looks like they tried to recreate the Sundown Mega W surround... Interesting.

That's a bazooka bass tube. Let's heard some DJ Magic Mike.
Wow dated yourself lol
Or that Everlasting Bass by Rodney O and Joe Cooley!!!!
It looks like a shallow mount sub with full throw capability. I have two JL 10s that are that way and look just like that
Do the shallow mounts get down and low
I just know that Lexus is BOOMIN
150db
I had that exact sub 12 and blew it less then 2 minutes playing lil Yachty 66
I have an all skar system skar slaps if you tune it right

Yes I full tilt for demos all the time. But my car is heavily dynomatted.
@@Kpaceguy does your trunk still open? Idk how to fix my trunk now lol it won’t open no more
Yes, everything is fully functional EXCEPT my dash cam rear view mirror lol
I got a Skar audio ZVX-12-2 sub the 1 ohm version
mounted into a ground shaker bass tube
And power by Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bdcp power let me tell you my ears can’t handle the bass because it gets extremely loud
Lmao I literally just purchased the same set up i cant wait now

How do you think it compared to the sdr 15 loaded enclosure
It doesn't. Sdr is still quite a bit better
You think you could fit an evl series 12 in that box?
Nope
I know
does the tube need an amp to power or does it have one already installed internally. because it says loaded
Loaded enclosures means it has a sub in it. Not amplifier.
Lmao 😂😂😂😂😂
The Port To Rear Would Sound Better?
Maybe. The issue still stands, but you'll hear the port less and maybe gain some SPL.
🔴Are we going to talk about the chandelier
It's talked about EVERYDAY lol that's why it's there
Boomy or tight bass?
Closer to tight than boomy
Can You Put A Better Sub In There?
Probably not. Needs to match box specs
I tried the EVL, but it kept making popping sounds
You're clipping
Why tf you got a chandelier in the back seat
Attention grabber
I had on my earbuds and I did not hear any bass! I am disappointed!
Yeah, that port noise was pretty awful lol
For sure
it for sure handled the n word right away during the demo......slow clap
Looks like a shallow sub
