- From inauspicious beginnings as a 16-year-old apprentice at Hong Kong's elegant Peninsula Hotel to his Atlas stride atop the fickle world of celebrity chefdom, Susur Lee has never strayed from his consuming passion: to create tantalizing dishes that blend textures and flavors in glorious harmony. Balancing the epicurean traditions of China with the classical techniques of French cuisine, Lee improvises a daring and original culinary aesthetic.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
Anyone here watching in 2020 because of the Bent-Lee brothers?
i'm watching because i like sursur, not because his son's are using their dad's celebrity to gain traction online.
@@precooked-bacon I don't know about the older ones, but his younger son seems to be a really good dude. don't be so cynical.
Me !!
@@precooked-bacon If I was a rich successful dad, I would want my sons to do whatever they can to be financially stable on their own and set themselves up for success. And by the looks of it, the sons are making their own names for themselves. It isn't always about being greedy and throwing your kids to literally do everything for themselves, sometimes you can teach them what to do and let them learn it isn't easy while also giving them the fortune of being able to enjoy and build on what you've worked for.
Going on either extreme end of giving too much or giving too little does nothing but push your family away from you. Being fearful of even the thought of sharing what you worked hard for with the people you love is a common misconception that is based on fear and having no trust.
Me

A perfect example of why Toronto is amazing. All the flavours of the world. I wish I had more money to eat at all the restaurants... Lee would be a nice place to start!
Just when I thought I couldn't like this guy anymore. I thought he couldn't get anymore cooler. I find out he did a Ted Talk with a Bruce Lee shirt. 😊

Love the T-shirt, another example of fusion 🤗
Had the opportunity to have a meal at one of Mr. Lee’s restaurants in Toronto. Had taken a friend as a “thank you “ for a kindness. We both agreed, best meal and dining experience to date ( we are both older and have travelled). Also have very fond memories of eating at “Peter Pan”, a friend and I were regulars. Loved the “Salad Cozumel” ( still remember it from the ‘80s when first moved to Toronto). Recipe for that salad, anyone?
He looks like a kongfu master

It’s Susur...
Love Susur’s passion and seems like a great man/father as well as an accomplished chef; however this felt like a very pointless speech. Maybe I am too daft but I took away nothing from this
