I'm not sure why everyone assumes Bruce Lee was JUST a actor. He only got known in the West because of movies, but it's not like everyone had a cellphone to record his random fights and tournament showdowns. People keep assuming he's a fluke or just a weak ass guy because they compare him to fighters they've seen on camera where as it is known that Bruce had to hold back on movies because of his sheer speed and lethal blows.
In fact stated that he needed to slow down his punches so the cameras can catch them in regular speed.
Bruce Lee is a Legend, let's respect his grave and keep it at that.

I am one of the last generation who born in late 80s. And watched some of Lee's movie with my friends in 1997 in a theatre in small village near Trichy Tamilnadu.
We were awestruck when we watched him on big screen. He is greatest Legend in Human history.
It's amazing that Bruce Lee set the template for the escalation of weapons, intensity and drama for movies and even video games decades yet to evvbe conceived. Prophetic he was. Honor to Mr. Bruce Lee.
Incredible how they don't mention how Bruce Lee was so fast the directors would normally ask him to slow his movements down so they can catch his actions on camera.

Bruce was one of a kind. He pushed his body to a new level of physical strength which would eventually cost him his life. Lee an intelligent man whom had created its own form of kung fu had pushed his body to the limit many times. However, he sadly had forgotten that he was not a godlike being, just a being made of flesh with a brain.
I thought he had a fatal reaction to one of the drugs he was given. Maybe without these drugs he would be still alive. But I agree that he did some extreme things to his body as well.

Bruce was,is and will be the best legendary martial artist forever. Bruce can't be compared with any great martial artist for his extraordinary super skill,agility,fitness,energy and speed. We all should feel proud that a man like Bruce Lee had once lived in the Earth. Bruce is so great and have so many skills that I don't even know where to start telling about his skills. Very sad that he died at are of just 32😞 but he is still and will be in our heart forever for his dedication and performance towards martial art. If he lived a little more then surely a movie should be made of him- " The martial artist with infinite skills"

a way of life for people like Bruce Lee. It wasn't about competition
only or just for fighting. It was a socially significant philosophy
fostered with conditioning and a disciplined way of life. His
contribution will never be forgotten.

I saw Bruce in person in 1968 in Washington DC do his 20 minute demonstration including his 6 inch punch at the national karate championships. Joe Lewis also defended his heavyweight title at the same event. Sooo lucky to have been there!

Jack Mehan, thank you. Finally someone with common sense. There is literally no proof of these mythical claims people make. He should get props for bringing martial art movies to the American theater and his work out routines that other fighters often sought out. But that's where it ends. There is record of him training in Wing Chun for about 3-ish years but no record of him finishing. No recorded fights. No recorded wins/losses. Nothing. Why if a man that is so mythical are there no records of any claims? I think people easily get caught up in the idea.
Jack Mehan, you and me both have been fighting for the same cause. Me being a child of the 70's was a huge fan/believer. Until spending over 25 years doing taekwondo, 4 years of Marine Corps Martial Arts and 2 years of kick boxing, certain things became apparent about him. One of the biggest being, no proof for such a movie star. Surely someone of his status has a record right? It first dawned on me he wasn't what people thought he was while I was watching one of his movies. He made his opponent tap with a sloppy useless arm bar. My friends thought it was a great move and Im like facepalming over it.
