GAMER DEMOCRACY WINS (a bit)!

Helldivers 2 recently received a massive wave of backlash and negative reviews, with especially the steam rating being "reviewbombed" after they announced the decision to require forced PSN login in order to play the game.

This especially frustrated players in countries where the game would be unavailable after this update due to the PlayStation Network not being available. Ultimately, Sony themselves needed to respond and reverse their decision.

Want to make a corporation listen? Do what Helldivers 2 players did here, or what D&D tabletop gamers did the last couple of years with Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast and the OGL controversy - BE THE INVESTMENT RISK. Threaten their profit margins. They came to the "find out" phase.
This is not the first time Sony has screwed the pooch and killed a game, but this might be the one time they have learned to listen to the people threatening their wallets.
You were right - when they claimed it was about "protecting the community", we all know that was bullshit and that it was about profit. They can 1) make the line go up due to increased numbers for their shareholders, AND 2) they can sell your data, which we all know they will do.
