    How to adjust clutch on motorcycle:
    - above your back brake peddle there is a "bulge". That "bulge" is your clutch. The cable above the clutch has an adjustment on it, start by loosing the top nut on the adjuster, then tightening the bottom nut.
    - Keep loosening and tightening the clutch cable until you find a comfortable grip zone. if you have loosened the top nut as far as possible the rest of the adjustments will have to be done at the clutch handle.
    - to adjust the clutch lever loosen the large nut to the right of the lever. Tighten the hollow clutch cable bolt until desired grip zone.

    My clutch was slipping in high gears and I didn't know why. I haven't been riding for 4 months because I don't have money to take it to a shop. I watched your video today and tried to adjust the clutch myself and it worked! Thanks to you I'm back to riding and didn't have to spend a dime!

    Thanks, few suggestions: the tyre must completely stop when clutch is pressed and only starts moving when clutch is released. Clutch adjustment should be made when engine is cold because when its hot the clutch plates and wire expands causes more slackness after riding few miles. Theres one more adjuster nut right above the two nuts you loose and tight covered with rubber sleeve its used if we have not adjustable space left at the lever side adjuster nut. And the lever side adjuster nut threads should be more the 70% inside the lever so it doesn't have loose shaking movement.

      +PwnsJones it's an ECU hot start issue. My 636 does it when it's over 180*. Always starts on second try. I believe there's a recall that gets your ECU swapped. And it's pronounced Dee-cal like calorie

    My Triumph mechanic took my cold bike out for a test drive and couldn't get it in 1st (I told him that it was easy to put in 1st after the bike was warm). He adjusted the cable tighter. Within a few days of driving it the damn cable Broke! He had put too much stress on the cable. Don't let your mechanic adjust your cable man. He made me get stranded 25mi from home. Also, carry an extra cable and tools for replacement so you won't get stranded like me. This is why I like hydraulic over cable.

    Decals are dipped into water until they start coming off the backing. Stickers have a backing that you just peel off & apply the sticker. Good video on clutch adjustments.

    Dude, you can absolutely put the bike on the rear paddock stand by yourself, I have no idea what the wood is for.
    Leave the bike on the side stand, put the rear stand under the swing arm/bobbins and push down on the back of the paddock stand; the bike will stand up straight then and the other side of the swing-arm will sit into place.
    Grab the rear seat with your other hand if you want, you can hold it there all day with no real effort at all.

    adjust the throttle play. when you start your bike it shouldn't sound like that at all. it sounds like it's starving for fuel, either make some adjustments to your idle or adjust throttle. if you have done that, then you need to look at your fuel injectors.

  • @captaincumexplosion
    @captaincumexplosion Před 6 lety

    In the beginning of the vid you said that the clutch doesn't engage fully if you LET GO of the lever. I have the exact opposite problem. If i pull in the lever as far as possible, the wheels aren't 100% disconnected of the engine. So if i were to pull in the clutch all the way, and get in the highest gear it will stop the engine eventhough i pulled the clutch in all the way. If anybody understood what i was trying to say, pls respond!!

      I have the same issue on my CBR125R. Have you figured the solution? When my bike is on stand, when I put it in gear, even though clutch is fully pressed, the wheel spins crazy. And my grip zone is just at the beggining of pull (as shown in video before fix).

      When you pull in or let out the clutch lever, the range where you can feel the clutch start to grab.
      Lever all the way in is outside of the grip zone (clutch fully disengaged, feels like neutral). Then there's the grip zone where it starts to grab (engage. power is being transmitted to the rear wheel). After it's fully engaged the rest of the travel on the lever is free play. Does that help?
