Thanks for a great review. I ordered these yesterday:)
Glad I could help!
Stamp 11's incoming for the new dream build. Good review.
Hi, thanks for the information. To say you do not want to use these for XC, as you would use clipless, is simply not the case. This is 100% personal preference. I have used both for many years and use flats for all kind of riding.
👍
I like the feel of my Stamp 7's small. But, I've been having an issue with one of them making an annoying Creaking sounds once a rotation! It's pretty annoying. I took it off and lubed the spindle and it helped for a few rides but the noise is back. I had less than a dozen rides on them and it was always dry out. Their support is really good so I suppose I'll try the rebuilt kit to see what that does. If they give me anymore issues I'm selling them and will never buy their pedal ever again.
I've got that same model too. I bought it in used condition. My problem is there is no indication for what is Left/Right on the pedals. May I ask if yours had? And where is it located? TIA
I've been running these stamp 7's on both my mountainbike(set up for the road)and my mountainbike(i use for anything offroad) and i absolutely love them to a point i want to fit them to all my bikes. I have a set of stamp 1's on my roadbike. And i dont like them. I need concave to feel locked in the pedal. I put them on the mountainbike( offroad) and there ok to use. Great grip just like the 7's but the 1's wobbel under your feet sometimes. I tried cheaper smaller flat pedales relulting in numb feet and pain and almost chrashing because i missed the pedal.
Hence just buy the 7's. The peace of mind knowing you have a big platform to plant your feet on keeps me feeling confident and safe. I have a pretty badly damaged wrist so i have to ride as safe a humanly possibly 😅. I have 2 sets of the large variant and i have a size 10 in DC Shoes. The support is great as i dont yet have propper shoes for mountainbiking . Im gonna give the Stamp 3 a try soon. If anyone it interested in how they feel let me know. One last thing i have used the 7's mainly in dry condition and the have all been flawless for about 400miles on bothe of them
You mentioned that you might prefer the smaller sized pedal. My shoe size is right at the break between CB's pedal size recommendations. I emailed them and they recommended the large. My thought is that I've been riding clipless for several years and the smaller sized Stamp pedal might align on my foot in a similar place.
What size are your riding shoes?
10.5 / 11 is my shoe size
For your future review of the shoes, would be curious to know how wide the toe box is compared to five ten
Its been awhile since I've had some Five Tens, I will say this. The Stamp and Mallet Shoes were both incredibly comfortable straight out of the box. I ended wearing the them as my daily shoes for awhile.
@@MTBRadDad good to know, thanks!
For the pins that can no longer fit the correct head, as long as it's not snapped off, you should be able to remove it with a pair of vice grips 👍🏼 just lock it on to the pin and screw it off.
Just got these too! Pretty hyped, they are super stiff though? Is that normal for new Stamp 7s, as in they don't freely spin that much.
👍
@@iluvshromp Just got mine today and they are stiff too. Did yours loosen up eventually? Thanks.
Hi, I have a question i got a 42 size shoe (270) and i wanna know, what size crank brothers stamp 7 should i get small or large?
I would suggest small based on Crank Brothers Recommendations.
Got them 5yrs the best ! Got the special addition Danny Mcasca !
How many km/miles before needing a service? i wold like to put them on my trail bike
No Idea, Reach out to crank brothers directly and they should have the answer 👍
Do the pins damage a casual shoe?
I think with any metal pins, theres the possibility of damaging the soles of shoes.
what size are your feet? thinking of going with smalls?
I wear 10.5 shoes
@@MTBRadDad sweet and you were thinkign youd prefer smalls. Im sitting at around size 9
Pliers will unscrew damaged pins
👍
Whats Your Favorite Pedals?
Race Face chesters 🎉
Stamp 7
So siiiick
Not sure why they're so popular. The spindle bends with one good rock strike or crash. They obviously don't cover rock strikes in their warranty so the latest they could do is build a burlier pedal
Cant Say I have ever had that issue and Ive got some gnarly strikes to these
