I’m really glad I saw this review before I bought the crank brothers pedals. I have the One Up composite pedals on my current bike which I really like, I am going to order the One Up Alloy pedals to put on my YT Capra when I receive it later this month. Cheers!

  • @benjy288

I have the stamp 1's, they have a small bearing and a bushing, and the first thing I did when I got them was replace the bushing with a needle roller bearing, and replace all the pins with longer ones, its supper grippy now, I prefer composite pedals because they're usually a bit lighter, they're not as harsh on pedal strikes, and the pins don't thread into the pedal body, so if you damage the thread on the nut you just replace the nut.

Did you contact Crankbrothers with your concerns, or just go straight to CZcams with this video? I've run three different pairs of Stamp 7's three day a week all year long mountain biking and really have had no problem. I have done a rebuild on some of them which is twenty something bucks an takes like 15 minutes. I've also done rebuilds on DMR Vaults, and Pedaling Innovations flat pedals. It's mountain biking, you need to service your stuff every once in a while. Last month I had a pretty hard crash giving me some stiches and broke a stamp 7 spindle in the process. I contacted them to see if I could buy a new spindle to rebuild them since they were past the warranty date. They responded by paying to ship them the broken pedal. A week later They sent a pair of new pedals back and the higher end multi-tool for the trouble. This was all past warranty date, and from my crash damage. If you like the One Up Pedal better great, but I can't handle that weird bearing knob when my foot hits it.

Bearings are superior to nylon bushings. I had same issue with Straitline DeFacto.

  • @piotr2951

I purchased the OneUp in oil slick color. In hindsight, I wish I had chosen the black one like you did. I guess you have to buy oil slick at least once 😂

  • @fspeshalxo69

what about the ns bikes pedal oil silk ?

Still just bought the stamp 7 in oil slick , can't wait

  • @MTBfixHQ

bearings in pedals mean nothing, bushings are far greater for pedals because they keep them thinner which is very important, stamp pedals are concave which is far superior to the convex oneup pedals, also the thinner and longer pins on the oneups will destroy your five ten shoes a hell of a lot quicker, if you take the time every few months to clean and regrease the stamp pedals they will last very long before you even need the refresh kit

I should have looked up reviews on the stamp 7 before purchasing. I just received mine so I can't attest to the durability, however I have purchased the small and large lime green splatter pedals and the lime green "splatter" is just that, a thin ribbon of green that is barely seen. This was the case on both the small and large sets. I sent the small back and when I received the large an hr ago I was disappointed and angry that it's the same cheesy "spatter" color. It is nothing compared to every pic I've seen of the splatter that has awesome coloration. I've tried to contact JAMES at crank bros but the phone just keeps ringing. Crank bros has misrepresented their products (to me) and since they are so expensive if they don't make it right I will Not purchase anything else with their name on it!

I was looking at these doing some research came across all this about them aswell and on one the MTB review media sites about them being bone dry inside not a bit grease either! I'm a heavier rider why was looking at them because the wider platform but would you believe they have a 90kg weight limit! This I was dumbfounded with reading this like wtf seriously!?

Have the same problem on stamp 11 after 3 months and nearly complete intact pedals.

  • @tacomaamocat4309

There’s nothing naive about expecting a $160.00 pedal to last at least a few years, it’s just a shit product made by a company who is comfortable cutting corners at the consumers expense.

Damn not even using bearings, what a complete rip off lmfao

RockBros make better products than Crank Bros
