How did the spotter or cameraman not see this coming? The driver tried to disregard this spotter, but the spotter says "trust me." No thanks. So sorry.
I can confidently say this is the first time I’ve ever been almost happy to see a spotter fail and result in a Jeep rollover. I do truly hope the driver is OK and I’d love to know if this lady ‘made it right’ by paying for the repairs-assuming she wasn’t the owner.
my favorite part is when she walks up and asks if he's ok 30 seconds after everyone else has taken action... like she's collecting facts for a report, literally gives no shits about what she just caused.
Two tips I always gave my daughters while riding quads : #1 if you are parking in sand make sure you're front wheels are lower ( pointing down hill) than the rears (its hard to get momentum facing up hill, and you'll just dig a hole). and #2. Don't turn/ park perpendicular to the Hill!
Yeah... because that would've gone well. No one would've been accused of sexism or gotten told to mind their business, women with large amounts of unfounded confidence always take that kind of shit well.
wrong, this is the rocker knocker, his front end actually needed to be farther left, riding on your rocker until you get far left and it climbs, its a crabwalk type of action.

I know that line looks completely wrong. I have done this trail and have done this trail with her as my spotter. I asked her about this after she spotted me through it. She told me that the driver had not disconnected his sway bars. This trail is not for inexperienced drivers. Instead of talking smack and calling names load up your junk and bring it to Moab. She is a great driver and spotter.
Would an experienced spotter or someone who has done this problem go into detail about what the spotter did wrong? I'd like to learn from this unfortunate event.
At the 0:30 the driver should have been instructed to turn passenger and crawl up the ledge more perpendicular to the obstacle so that the Jeep would be more level. Even when she was told that the right rear tire is off the ground, she should have instructed the driver to turn right and continue to see if the rear tire regained traction or if you got even worse. If worse then the driver needed to back down and realign with the obstacle.
I saw that coming. Also looked like driver inexperience. And Pritchett Canyon is not a place you want to be learning how to wheel, plenty of other fun trails to do that in Moab.
@Cduncan3704 As soon as the front right tyre goes onto that second ledge it was "game over" for the jeep. If you stop the vid at 2.03min it clearly shows the jeep way to high on the ledge for the rear to slide. It was the correct line but too high up. sorry.

I've off-roaded a few times and even i know that going up steep, uneven ground... do not turn your wheels as far as they can go. Your car/truck will always be at its most stable when going straight. To prove my point... what happens when you're driving and turn the wheel slightly and let it go.. the car/truck will go back to its most stable position.. straight.
That has zero to do with stable position there is a vavle in the powersteering rack or box that puts even pressure on both sides making your wheel go straight its called the orbital valve
She was giving good advice, for a shorter wheel base. I'm pretty sure that works there for the shorter rigs. She apparently just knows the lines, not why and how to adapt.
That woman needs to sit down and shut up. I saw that roll over coming from a mile away. Don't EVER turn diagonally on a slope so that the weight of the vehicle is all focused on one wheel. That is the best way to ensure a rollover. This made me cringe.
She said "trust me it will slide" & "It'll slide in a second, you'll feel it". She never said it wouldn't slide on it's side and the feeling would be pain.
how could you not see that front left tire leading to a rollover? That's just like basic cause and effect. I don't even offroad this hard and even i could see that was a bad angle. She wanted him to approach a diagnonal surface with the tires turned sideways???
Good thing he had that spotter. Yes, Yes , just a little more and you will be nicely sideways on the hill. There you go. Don't worry, that will buff right out.
