Pronounced "B to B" which stands for Born to Beat. Debuted in 2012. Fandom name is Melody because "Every beat needs a melody".
From left to right: Minhyuk (also goes by Huta for his solo work), Sungjae (maknae), Eunkwang (leader), Hyunsik, Changsub, and Peniel. All but Sungjae are 30+. Originally 7 members with a third rapper (Ilhoon) who was removed amidst drug allegations a few years ago.
Formerly of Cube Entertainment but just recently left that company (but remaining as a group). Have been very poorly promoted imho which is why so many people don't really know about them. They have a massive discography that is pretty much all stellar and their live stages are insane. They are also so much more chaotic and unhinged than this Killing Voice would lead you to believe lmfao.
i just want to add that they are really popular in korea, so thats what promotions were focused on and i think is the reason many international fans don't know them. still poorly promoted in general ofc

I'm not even a Melody, but Brother Act is still one of my top kpop albums to this day. Such a masterpiece.
The guy with impossible range is Hyunsik. He and the guy next to him, Changsub, are both the students of Big Mama member, who is a professor of Music in Howon University. They were 2 out of the only 5 students that were accepted that year into Howon.
That Blue moon song is my favorite of the bunch, I plan on filming one of the live stages and posting that over on patreon!
Blue moon (cinema version) was first out on Mnet's Kingdom in 2021 by BTOB 4U (unit of BTOB). The original Blue Moon out in 2018. Both have different rap part and arrangement. You must watch both of their live stage

(Minhyuk and especially Hyunsik, the guy with the crazy vocal range, produced most of these songs here and have lately produced the entire latest albums).

The one in the middle with the tie is Hyunsik. He has the widest range out of them all. He can sing very low and very high. BTOB overall is a very talented group. You should really check more of them especially their live stages.

Hyunsik (the one with the crazy range) and Changsub (wearing a vest, left of Hyunsik) went to Howon University for Practical Music (hard to get into) and guess who is their professor back then, one of the Big Mama vocalist, Shin Yeon-ah!

They are known as the og beagle-dols of K-pop, meaning funny as heck, making their variety show appearances great. Having members that composers, they are able to rest their own brand of music. Btob or Born to Beat debuted under Cube entertainment in March 21, 2012. Their fandom name is Melody because Every Beats needs a Melody- BTOB is the Beats and their Melody is MELODY.
They debuted with the the song INSANE in 2012 and followed by different genre throughtout the years like WOW, Second Confession (which they sang here) , Beep Beep, Thriller, Youre so Fly, The winters Tale.
At the start of their career 2012 -2014 Btob has barely had popularity and recognition both in korea and International as the group debuted together with them were so Big like EXO from SM , VIXX, BAP and more.
In 2015 the group decided to risk their usual genre and stick to their BALLAD , in which they gain massive popularity in Korea not only for their vocals but for HEALING SONG.
ITS OKAY , which released in 2015 first rank no.1 in all korean music site which make BTOB top the chart after 3 years debuted. They decided to released 2 more BALLAD TRILOGY WAY BACK HOME in Ocotber 2015, in which in this sonh they got their first public music win after 3 years and 8months, on which that time they are the first group who win for longest years (3 years and 8 months) among kpop group debuted. The success of ballad trilogy continue as they released REMEMBER THAT in 2016.
since Debut Btob have been participatinh to their music includinh production, music composition, rap making and all but the total control over their music was when their new song ILL BE YOUR MAN make it to their TITLE track since then they are over control over what song and what TITLE song they will released. In 2017 Btob released back to back funky and Ballad song with the album Feel em which have two hit song SOMEDAY produced by member IM Hyunsik ( the one you said have different vocal tone and the one who wrote ILL BE YOUR MAN) and the Title track MOVIE , which is a funky dance song produced by past member and rapper Jung Illhoon. Both song top korean chart and gain so much recognition.
Btob higlighted their popularity as they released their Fall Album which became the Nations Ballad song and gain more popularity since it was released. Missing You ( who they sang first here) was composed and Produced by Im Hyunsik , which gain numerous and longest number 1 in all music chart platform and until now listed as one of the longest Idol songs in chart since 2017. It won many music chart and awards. Btob gain also popularity not only with the fandom but throughout korea in all ages group including hearing disabilities people who BTOB performed MISSING YOU with a sign language.
The popularity grew in 2018 as they released their summer song ONLY ONE FOR ME, this song was one of the intro song that RUNNING MAN member alwasy sing in their concert … and Beautiful Pain in 2018 released with the same hype as the the other two. Sadly as every member of korean citizen, BTOB who was on their verge of popularity decided to joined the Army one by one starting from Eunkwang until the last youngest member Sungjae.
For at least 3 years all member were finished their military service even their youngest who is not yet should enter entered the army just to finished early and reunite as BTOB in the their 10 year anniversary.
During HIATUS, Every member who had remained released in their solo song, unit songs and do variety shows and drama. Even they are hiatus some member are still active in music , acting, musical acting and variety and more.
Until 2021 when all the older member were released, they joined KINGDOM an MNET variety shows competition, four member who was active in that time were EUNKWANG, MINHYUK, Changsub and PENIEL. Btob popularity merges international and more people pay attention to them. Their domestic popularity still there even for how many years military hhiatus. Untim 2022 when they are completef their military services they released their 10 year anniversary song THE SONG and until now they continue to be a group. Their last album is WIND AND WISH which still top korean music chart in 2023.
Last November , BTOB was not under Cube entertainment anymore. Their 11 year contract was ended. Right now they are still group but we are hoping we can hear from them to make more music. Btob right now was so active in variety shows , musical, and youtube content. They have no agency but thex still actively doing individual activity.
Btw:
In 2020 , Illhoon decided to be removed as member in BTOB because of drug allegations but was pardon and released. He is now not active in kpop but we are hoping he will come back soon.
Btob is variety kings also they are so funny and entertaining. All their variety shows were trended in korea. Also their tiktok video was so popular especially their MEMES . They earn trust of their juniors and was known to have great brotherhood and great personality. Some of them were judges in competition shows and even produced some song of that shows.
They have wide music genre. They are more known in Ballad but when you are a fan and listen to their album since debut BTOB is more than a Ballad and vocal group which has different music genre and style.

Their live performances especially their CONCERT are really worth listening and worth to watch online and especially offline or in concert venue. Every year their Concert tickets were sold faster even their latest Btob concert movie rank high in movie sales in korea this years.
I want to tell you more about them but one. Thing I can say . Once you know BTOB you can never get out from them. I am a random from since debut but still a certified Fan until now and its almost 12 years already.

They are such individuals but have learned how to mesh as a performing powerhouse and a strong brotherhood. And they are so very multi-talented that it's kind of hard to believe. The rapper on the right probably forgot the lyrics because the song was so old and they are the lyrics of the member, Ilhoon, who left the group in 2021. All the rappers have written their own lyrics since the early days (“not a booty call” is Chicago-born Peniel’s norm) and they have taken turns doing Ilhoon’s raps.

For album reaction: I would suggest their latest, fully own-composed; Be Together (full album from 2022) and/or Wind And Wish (mini album from 2023). Honestly I love their whole discography and they have a lot of songs so it's hard to recommend lol but I can garantee you will find some gems throughout their career. Not only do THEY sound good in their songs and especially live, but the instrumentals alone of their songs are awsome too!!
So glad you checked them out, they're my all-time favorite group! Their music is absolutely beautiful and their personalities are super extra 😂 As for album reactions, if you want to do a shorter album I would suggest their recent "Wind and Wish" album that came out this year. For a longer one, "Brother Act" is always a fan favorite.

They have a little bit of everything, you can also react to their solo music, especially the two that piqued your interest the most have outstanding solo stuff, they will blow your mind lol.
They also are freaking unhinged offstage so that's also something to look out for.
Peniel, the one a bit "lost in the sauce" is the only one who cant sing to a high level so he got less time to shine in a format like this, but hes a good rapper and hosts an english speaking podcast in the DIVE Studios channel with other musicians and idols.
You can also see the expertise of BTOB as performers by the arrangement & the order of the songs in this video, like which song warms you up, hype you up, throws you of the seat and later makes you want to wave your hands in the air.

BTOB is definitely my fav group, so bummed I only found them this year. How they can go from WOW and Insane and then Missing you and wind and wish. Loved your reaction to this group. I found them because they did "For You" OST for Cinderela and 4 knights and then found WOW (first track of my wake up and exercise playlists). FYI Peniel was singing anothers part that is no longer with the band. We think his oops is cute.

@@TJKReactsss Yeap and he is also from the US so his parts in most of the songs are in English. the part he missed a beat and couldn't catch up afterwards was originally a part for another member who has already left the group. 🥲 he doesn't have many parts in the beginning of their debut due to the language barrier but he is getting more and more now 👍🏻
Peniel forgot the line bc it was originally ilhoon (the former BTOB member)’s line. And ilhoon wrote that line with difficult sounding Korean names.
So really it’s kinda sad that they lost ilhoon and made a mistake while still trying to include his line.
Btw ilhoon is the best Korean rapper in my opinion. So sad that he had to leave the group for smoking mj. He also wrote many of BTOB songs along with Hyunsik and Minhyuk. What a loss for everyone :(

Both Hyunsik and Changsub applied to Howon separately at the same time while 3000 other students also applied. They only admitted 5 students, 2 of who were men, and that’s Hyunsik and Changsub.
They’re 28-33 actually. lol the 2 oldest ones turned 33 in November within a few weeks before my 33rd birthday. lol
