- Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan has defended pianist Brendan Kavanagh after the musician was confronted by a Chinese mob who demanded he stop playing a public piano in a train station.
“You’re just minding your own business, you’re playing beautiful piano,” Mr Morgan said.
“Then this group of Chinese people in the background with their flags come over, and sort of believe they have the right to stop you filming and doing what you’re doing.
“The policewoman who came over to you, I didn’t like what she was doing either, which was almost acquiescing to this.
“They should all just calm down, recognise we live - last time I checked - in a free, democratic country, and you are allowed to play the piano where you’ve played it many times.”
The UK is NOT communist China. The attitude of the people towards the pianist was disgraceful. The police response was pathetic.

The fact is, and it's on one of the published videos, there were 2 TV production crews standing near. One of them had already identified themselves as Japanese. When other Asan people came forward with big smiles and congratulations and shook his had and asked if they also might play the piano, Brendon saw their Chinese flags, with the major star representing the CCP. In confusion, he asked in they were Japanese, then corrected himself and asked if they were Chinese.
At that point their minder became faux-outraged, calling him racist.

Also these six people were waiting to film a video footage on the piano for the Chinese New Year greetings from across the world which will be later showing in the national TV programme on New Years Eve. That‘s why they can‘t be in the live stream cause there are two more weeks until the final programme is on TV. He was astonishingly rude and disrespectful and being a racist.

Comes to something when us Brits can't behave totally appropriately in our own country. I've been to China and other countries with very different cultures to ours and if I'd behaved like that Chinese guy I would have quickly been dragged away by the local police and then god knows what would have happened to me.
