Workers Party MP George Galloway on Tuesday this week (30 April) asked penetrating questions about the situation in Gaza and its likely fallout in the form of an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court.
The minister’s replies were disappointing as he reminded old association with Galloway in the parliament.

I strongly agree. I would support sending food/shelter kind of aid to places like Gaza, but we should not be involved with arming suspect regimes and we should very much distance ourselves from the catastrophe that is the declining USA. I think International Law and our own laws are pretty clear, and we should abide by them. If we ignore them, we are giving a free pass to anyone to ignore them in the future and I don't want to live in a world where citizens of any country can be treated in any way with no impunity.

If Israel is being supplied by Great Britain with arms and other aid then it cannot be correct or right to say that they are doing all that they can to prevent an attack by Israel on Rafah. As far as can be established, GB have not even informed Israel what the consequences to them of an attack on Rafah will be or could be - they are silent. i.e. they are, having repeatedly been warned that an attack will take place, complicit in it, no action has been taken to prevent an Israeli attack.
How hollow are the oft repeated words, "We are doing everything that we can." They mean in effect, "We can do nothing but talk here in Parliament, with the final words being " ...and we must wait for further events"
