We have done all of the upgrades you suggested except for the bilge pump, and that is coming this winter when we pull it out for the season. We also picked up the Mercury VesselView Mobile which monitors the motor, and an Apple Airtag to monitor the location....just in case. Lastly, we have a small fiberglass locker where we keep lifejackets, a towel and a few tools.

I would add one major item: a very friendly hostess who can ferry you around to your hearts delight, refuel while one strolls to the cafe for a cinnamon bun break ..etc. Have a great week U2!

I also have a floating VHF I always take along. And portable depth sounder. Really easy to use. Just put it in the water and it reads. Also has temp.

hard /fiberglass hull vs RIB , why a Whaler ?

The whaler is a lot more durable on oyster shells (they are on all of the shore lines in Desolation Sound).
If you have sand on your shorelines, I’d go with a rib. Lighter, faster and better ride quality. IMHO.
