- I keep remembering techniques from other crafts that work well in junk journaling as well. Join me as I stack, tear, sort, glue, and -- for some inexplicable reason -- talk a lot about Little Women (literary and cinematic versions.)

...As apposed to Whack and Stack, in which case the FBI might get involved ..LOL. but I digress. Another thing you give me to try. Thank you!
Oh my gosh, very unsettling indeed! lol. Thanks for watching!
H e he. just my mystery novelist coming through.@@annekenlon
Thanks for sharing your great idea! Gayle showed us what you came up with so I needed to see your video as well.
You are so welcome! Gayle was so kind to refer my channel to so many of her viewers. I really appreciate your being here!
Anne! So awesome! Gayle sent us over😁. All of us😜! Please keep making videos, you are a joy to hear and view👀.
Oh, what sweet thoughts, THANK you! I raise my coffee cup in a toast to YOU and all the other wonderful crafters who have joined me this week!
I have always loved Stack N Whack quilts but never thought to do tags.
Thanks so much, Alice! Yes, I always loved those quilts - like putting a puzzle together. I'm delighted that so many folks enjoyed the tag idea.
After seeing Gayle's video I definitely wanted to come and check out your channel. This project looks such fun; I'm definitely going to stack and whack! 😁Thank you for the inspiration. 😊 Belinda
Belinda, thank you so very much! I know you'll have fun stacking and whacking!
Hi Anne, love this idea! I saw Gayle do it and she mentioned you, so now I am your fan too! Stack-'n -whack... love it!😂
It's really fun, isn't it? Hope you have fun trying it - thanks for watching!
I too watched Gayle do this and it looks so fun. I am trying it this afternoon with my Theadosa Square Paper Pad. You all have such great ideas and pass it on to us. Thanks a bunch.
I really enjoy this method . Made 10 this morning.
Oh, wow, that's amazing! Thanks so much for letting me know! They do make terrific, interesting backgrounds that you can then turn into almost anything. So glad you found it useful.
What an incredibly clever idea!
Thank you so much! It's certainly not original to me, but I'm thrilled so many other folks now know about it and can have fun using it. It always turns out different and always great!
I’m not mean, but I was happy to see you get tangled up in the beginning. I’ve been trying this for exactly one day and keep mixing pieces up. I could see where your goofs were, but that’s because I got so much practice. 🫤Thank you!
Hahaha, I'm so glad you shared this! Yes, I've since developed a different practice for the sorting and it goes better. Gayle does it MUCH better! Glad you're having fun!
My very favorite book as a child was secret garden. I wasn't much of a reader but i couldn't wait to come home to read this book😊❤this is a great idea i love it
Oh, Suzy, do you know what, I JUST re-read The Secret Garden a few weeks ago! It had been awhile, but it was on my Kindle app and I clicked onto it one night I couldn't sleep. Mary was such an interesting main character - so disagreeable - but how she changed as she learned about life on the moor! I was always a little disappointed that the book ended with her cousin's triumph and not her own, but that was the author's choice I guess! Enjoy this technique!
I just found your channel and am a beginner at junk journaling. Loved your process video and the conversation about “Little Women”. I’m 70 and have never read it. I grew up in WV, and I do not remember having to read any of the classics, which is really sad. I realize I’ve missed so much…
Brenda, I encourage you to pick it up! It’s a wonderful read!
Wow, I )ove this idea, Anne! Never heard of stack and whack before, so cant wait to give this a try. Thanks for sharing! Sue 😊❤
Thanks, Sue! Yes, this technique is super fun and so easy - and as you could see, somewhat forgiving as well! Have fun and thank you for viewing!
Hi Anne, Gayle sent me 😂💜. I love both of the ideas that you have shared!
Welcome!! And thank you so much, Denise!
Good morning. Jumped over from Gayle’s channel. So inspired by your video on the stack and whack tags. Super fun!! 😁💕
Oh, wow, thank you! Have fun making them! I really appreciate your viewing!
I was watching Gaye Agostinelli’s video of your technique for tags and had to subscribe to your channel. Looking forward to viewing a lot of your videos.❤
Donna, thank you so much - I'm thrilled to welcome you aboard. I am really glad you are getting some new ideas here. Have fun!
I really enjoyed watching you and this project. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks so much, Cheryl! I hope you have fun with it!
Anne, love this idea. I have not used a particular book on collage, great idea. Marietta Billups 😊😌 I love the card idea for the corner
Thanks so much, Marietta! I really appreciate your watching!
Also saw Gayle’s video …which was inspired by you. Great idea!
Thank you so much - it's easy and fun! I hope you try it. Thanks for watching!
This is a great idea Anne. Gayle Agostinelli sent me. 😊😊
Thank you so much, Wanda - I appreciate your hopping over!
Lord Anne, I'm a former quilter...I've done this with fabric. Why not paper? Time to drag out my quilt books & see what else will transition to paper. TY for the nudge, & the inspo! xo
Thank you, and have fun with it! It's amazing how many techniques can transfer into different crafts, isn't it?
I've never heard or seen this either. Another very cool idea.
Have fun with it, Marcia!
This is a great technique, Anne. I came over from Gayle’s channel and am subscribing to yours!
I'm so excited to have you here, Sue, thank you!
Love these tags! 💜
Yours will turn out great, I know! Thank you!
Gayle Agostinelli recommended your CZcams channel so here I am as a new subscriber and I am enjoying your channel very much! This technique is so much fun and yesterday I made 20 tags in one sitting. I look forward to watching more of your wonderful videos.
Same here!!! ❤
Welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Eileen - and look how productive you are! Thanks for watching!
Thank you, Pam! So delighted you're here!
Love the stack and whack idea. Saw Gayle doing it.
It's fun, isn't it? Thanks for watching!
Clever idea thank you
So glad you like it! Have fun!
LOVE, LOVE the fact that you use your favorite book text in your art!!! You have totally inspired me, and I'm so excited to use multiples of my favorite books this way! Thank you! 😊
Yay! Thank you so much! I'm delighted you're viewing - have a blast crafting!
Love the stack and whack technique. I do remember my Grandmother doing this when cutting out her quilt squares. She did everything by hand, including a treadle sewing machine.
Aren't those treadle machines something amazing? How did those women do so much with them - and usually making all the clothes for the whole family?!
Little Women is very special to me, as well. My mother introduced it to me when I was very young. She read it when she was a child. We were both very avid readers. I've always felt a special kind of "ownership" with this book. I tried the "stack and whack" technique for tags and now I have 10 more ready to go. I enjoyed it very much.
Barb, you touched me deeply with these comments. Don't know if I mentioned this in the video, but Little Women is the only book I ever remember discussing in-depth with my own mother. I always associate it with her - as well as the 1994 movie! Have fun stacking and whacking, and here's to the March sisters!
What an awesome fun idea. Thank you. Will try this.
Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy it!
Hi! I just found your channel through Gayle A. and I’m really enjoying your content!❤❤
Welcome, Jodi, and thank you so much for watching!
Hi Anne: Gayle sent me to your channel: I enjoyed this and I will be making some of these: love Charlotte
Hope you enjoy your fun tags! Thank you, Charlotte!
love the process
Thank you so much! I appreciate your watching!
Love your video. Came over from Gayle’s channel. New subscriber. Look forward to enjoying your videos.❤
Thanks for coming, Susan! I really appreciate it! Gayle's lovely subscribers have been so good to me this past week!
❤🎉😊 I love it!
Thanks so much! It's a fun way to mass-make, for sure!
Nice ideas mixing them up
Glad you like them!
Thanks! I love the "stack and whack" concept. Perhaps you will become famous in the junk journaling realm for this. I hope so!
You're so kind, thank you very much! For now I'm happy to just be crafting away in my basement, taking you along with me! Thanks for watching!
Loved the project, and thanks for reminding me that I don't have to throw away the beautiful wildlife calendar from last year. Happily cutting it up now.
Aren't the wildlife calendars the best?! I confess I was taking down my 2023s even before New Year's Eve and snipping away at them!
Love this!
Thank you so much! It's really fun to see how many people are now enjoying this.
I love the use of quilting techniques. I made a few.
There are so many connections when we look for them, aren't there?
These are great!
Thank you so much - they're fast and fun!
What a beautiful thing to be distracted by…literature especially Little Women 😊. I do love both versions with Winona and the newest version. I need to do a rewatch and more importantly a reRead! Now to at it to my reading list for 2024! 😊I’ve only visited Chicago once. On a family trip, unfortunately those pictures are gone. So that should make for an excuse to make a trip once more! 😊I love the idea of these tags by the way, I will have to try this for sure! Thanks For sharing!
Thanks so much, Daisy! Glad you like the technique, have fun with it - and glad you enjoyed the talk about the March sisters. It's so often referred to as one of the first feminist novels, and I love that about it. Happy crafting!
I’ve never seen this idea Anne! It’s fabulous! I will try this process! Happy New Year!
PS: I love the name Stack and Wack! Awesome!
Thank you so much, Barbara! Happy New Year to you as well, and thanks for watching!
It sounds uncomfortably aggressive, doesn't it? But it works so well, both in quilting and paper crafts! Have fun!
If I had any desk space, I would sooo be doing this RIGHT NOW! Thank you for sharing your process (and adoration for Little Women!)
Thank YOU for watching! And I firmly believe if the March sisters were allowed any paper craft activities, they would be making these right along with us!
Oh my goodness! Can you imagine! 🧡@@annekenlon
Saw this on Gayle’s ., so happy to discover you
Thank you so much - I'm so happy you're here!
cool idea!😊
Thank you! Cheers!
I am going to shock you. I am 70 and have never read Little Women! But after listening to you, now I am going to. And maybe the same for Little Men too. I love these Stack and Whack Tags. And I really need this Tag Template, so am going to look around at Gayle's YT until I find it. Thanx
You'll love the book! And the tag template is so easy - just use an old gift card or loyalty card and snip a corner or two off in whatever angles you choose. All my snips are different. Then just cut alongside the edge of the plastic card, and flip it over to cut the other side. Thanks for watching!
What a fun idea! I definitely will be doing this. TFS!
Have fun with it, and thanks for watching! I really appreciate it!
Love this mass make idea! And my AGG bottle looks the same! And I always keep it on its side so I don’t have to wait so long for the glue to come out!
Do you know what, just this past weekend I actually cleaned up the bottle with some Goo Gone and a lot of rubbing. It looks so much better now. I can't believe I let it go out in public looking like that for so long!
If, after you tear your pieces and put the starting pieces on, then just move the top scrap of piece two to the bottom of the pile and put the second pieces on in the same order as you did the first, then put top two scraps of piece three on the bottom of the stack, etc, they will shuffle themselves.
Great tip! Thank you!
Oh, Anne! I love this! First of all, I’ve never heard of stack and whack and the phrase just makes me laugh! But what a fun way to collage! Can’t wait to try it! Thanks for the shout out also! I’ve gotten so lazy about using my corner cut cards, so I appreciate the reminder to get mine out. I’m with you on owls! I love them. You know with what we do, they are so handy because they are a nice vertical to add to a piece. Thanks so much for the fun technique! Let me know if it’s okay to video my attempt. I’ll surely link your channel if I do! Big hugs, dear one!! 🤗❤
Gayle, I'd be thrilled to have you give this one a go! And yes, when I first heard "stack and whack" at a quilt guild meeting, I couldn't stop giggling myself! Thanks so much!
Wait....Beth dies??? 😅 jk...I haven't seen the most recent version of Little Women. I do love the 90s version with Winona Ryder and Gabriel Bryne...oh, and Christian Bale. Thanks so much for another fun crafty idea. I create journal tags using authentic Toe Tags, so the phrase Whack and Stack sounds great! 😅😅 Happy New Year!
You're cracking me up! Yes, Christian Bale - the dreamiest Laurie ever. Worst version I ever saw was from the late 70s sometime. I stumbled across it in parts on CZcams a few years ago. Lots of stars from the day, most of them poorly cast in leading roles. Meredith Baxter-Birney was a petulant, whiny Meg and Eve Plumb (Jan Brady) was a trying-too-hard Beth. Susan Dey of Partridge Family fame was pretty good as Jo, but the most unfortunate cast member was William Shatner as Professor Baher with the worst fake accent ever! Do look up the 2019 Greta Gerwig version with Saoirse Ronan - she's spectacular as Jo.
Hi Anne, I've watched this video a couple of times, also over at Gayle's channel. This is really a fun method. TFS. 😊 Would you mind if I share this on my channel?
My heavens, yes, Patty, I'd be delighted! Have fun with it!
@@annekenlon thank you ❤️
I worry, whenever I read Pride and Prejudice, that Lizzie and Darcy won’t get together.
I know, right? And yet, they do. Just like poor Beth never makes it to the end of LW.
Almost like smaller master boards.
Sort of, yes! I see that Gayle inked the edges on those she did after these - I'll do that next time!
