I will finish medical school in 2024, can I start the application for ECFMG certification now and then write the USMLE exams say in 2026 after my house job ? Asking because of the new rules starting in 2024

You can start ECFMG certification process anytime as long as you are in medical school or have graduated from medical school.
However you can only be issued the ECFMG certificate after you have passed the USMLE step 1, step 2CK and OET

@@stanleyboakye2427 From 2024, medical schools will need to be accredited by a WFME- recognised accrediting agency if they wish to ensure their medical students and graduates are eligible for ECFMG certification. So the Ghana Medical and Dental council, in the case of Ghana, must be accredited by the WFME. This announcement was made by ECFMG in 2010 but our MDC has still not applied. But the ECFMG says if someone applies for certification before 2024, the new rule won't apply for that person.

@@stanleyboakye2427 Yes, most of them are recognised by ECFMG. But then in addition to that, from 2024, the agency that accredited these medical schools must also apply for accreditation and be granted one before 2024. That is the only way individuals from those medical schools can be certified by the ECFMG. You can check the ECFMG website for more information on the new regulations from 2024

What if I didn’t train in Ghana 🇬🇭.After completing med school in CHINA or Russia 🇷🇺 I want the USMLEs…How am I going to the certificate of good standing from MDC ?

If you do not have license to practice in any country, after passing all the required exams of USMLE, you will need 3 Drs with at least 5 years of practice experience to evaluate your clinical skills and recommend you. You will need to find these 3 Drs by yourself.
