      After massive weight loss, this procedure changes lives. The only better one might be a tummy tuck, but after that its a Brachioplasty.

    Hello Dr. Thomas. Ive been thinking about having this surgery for about 4 years and am still worried about disappointing results. Ive lost 20kg and have only minor skin laxity. My arm fat has always been an issue even when i was thin before any weight gain. My question is why dont surgeons perform liposuction ALL THE WAY ROUND the arms? I have excess fat all around my arms. What is the purpose of only fixing the lower side of the arms and not the upper? As far as i know theres only one surgeon (i think hes coined it celebrity arms) who is offering this and explains that surgeons are only trained to remove fat from the lower part, but in his own research and trials he found that skin naturally retracts after liposuction and will attach itself back onto the remaining fat so will not sag. So he offers this 360 degree approach. Unfortunately he charges an ungodly amount because he is the only surgeon offering this method. Why dont other surgeons jump on the wagon and offer this surgery?

      I perform 360 liposuction of the arms on almost all my arm lifts. I just haven't coined a term for it. If you have mild laxity though, liposuction + bodytite has been giving me some impressive results recently. Hopefully I can post some here soon.

    Love your video, very informative, I want to get this procedure done, I would like to get the liposuction first and then after awhile get the extra skin removal; do you think is it a good idea?

      I do this sometimes if there’s a lot of fat in the upper arms. We do a debulking stage followed by a skin removal stage later

    I'm hoping to consult with you in early 2025 about lipedema official diagnosis and treatment plan. How long is the current waiting time for an appointment? I don't want to put myself in the position of waiting too long to call for an appointment and then waiting 6 months for an open time slot. (I have been in that situation and it messes up my plans😅) Thanks!

    How do doctors prevent those risks you mentioned?

    • @DrHagopian
      @DrHagopian  Před 2 lety +1

      Training is a big part of it. A plastic surgeon who's board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery is the ONLY surgeon who's appropriately trained to do these procedures. That's by far the best way to minimize your risk of complications. Also, good nutrition and exercise before surgery. The healthier someone is, the lower the risk of complications overall in general.
