We just had some one in my city cut the paws off of a puppy and threw it in the river. Some one found it though. Lots of animal abusers in this world unfortunately

Pitbulls are illegal in Australia. Staffies have the highest kill rates along w pitbulls in Australia.
In July 2021 a five-week-old baby boy was mauled to death by his family's American Staffordshire on the NSW Central Coast of Australia.
Becaude pitties are physically capable of causing serious or lethal harm, so their attacks get noticed while dogs like Chihuahua's attack humans far more often but no one cares because it's just a nipped ankle.
Because a subset of pitbulls are genetically predisposed to violence. Dog attacks are rare, but if one does happen it usually makes the news. Not all pits are aggressive, but if you get one you are taking a risk however small it may be.
Australian authorities have confiscated Molly because some wildlife rescuer called Cat Coake spent months complaining for them to remove Molly. Some people just want to make the world miserable. Molly was free to come and go as he pleased. (Yes, he's male.) His wings weren't clipped. He wasn't caged. He chose to stay. Now he'll be locked away in some facility (he cannot be released in the wild) because some bitter busybody who claims to care for animals failed to see how happy and safe he was with his family.
It's a amazing story and needs to get out into public so Molly can return home
No, some "busy body" took a native bird from a couple that were exploiting a bird for social media clicks and money. It is because of the selfish actions of this idiot couple that the magpie can never be released back into the wild. If they had contacted a licenced wildlife rescue group when they first found the magpie, the magpie would have been properly looked after and trained and released back into the wild.
As far as being "free to leave" the bird was habituated to humans and never learned to fend for himself. It wasn't able to leave.
Maybe learn something about animals before commenting and making yourself look like an ignorant fool.

It’s one thing for the dog to produce milk out of a nurturing affection for the bird but the fact that the bird is trying to drink it is something else! Interesting story and sweet friendship for sure!

This dog is Staffordshire Terrier not a pit bull as they are illegal in Queensland Australia. Thanks to the support from around the world they have been reunited after 47 days apart & they were so excited to see each other again ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

We take for granted nature. I had a magpie that morned when my dog died. They only new each other through the window. But this summer we had the whole family visit mum dad and two babies❤❤❤❤❤❤🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

Lip kisser. I’m afraid of them too. I don’t understand why I’ve become so afraid of big dogs particularly Pitties. I never used to be like that and it bothers me, and baffles me. I was in the veterinarians office the other day and someone with a pittie came in and I was scared to death. I don’t get it.
Pitties are wonderful pets and gentle by nature. The human beings that raise and train them improperly are the problem

My staffy female,who's left this earth now, but she also produced milk to feed these kittens on the farm. I have a photo of her, lying on her side,feeding 5 kittens. Phantom pregnancy to feed the kittens. How lovely she wanted to feed the bird ❤❤

Our dog began making milk too when we were caring for a baby fox, but when dogs do this, it's not always as nutritious as the milk they make when they have puppies, so we still gave the fox special formula. But he'd cuddle up with our dog and sleep and she treated him like her puppy 🥰

It's actually fairly common. Amongst the domestic dog's wolf ancestors, subordinate females will often nurse the lead female's offspring. There's even a channel right here on youtube (KOTSUMET) where the same thing happened with otter sisters. :-)
Some human females can do it as well.
Most of mammals can, at least when a baby sucks. Any woman could feed a baby.
This happened to a Siamese cat that I had years ago. She had enough milk to feed a litter. Unfortunately there were no motherless litters available, so eventually her milk dried up. She was always a very maternal and affectionate cat. A few years later we got another year old cat and the older one always treated her like her baby. Would groom her daily from nose to tail and just loving on the younger one. It was so sweet to witness! 😻😻

We had a Rottwheiler and a duck that were best friends when I was growing up They used to paddle in the lake together when we went for walks. When she'd lay eggs he slept with her and stood guard of the nest.
I was truly blessed to have had them as part of my family.

Grew up in the bush with a few different magpies (rescued younglings), they make great pets, my main bird thought it was a dog too, would warble then break out in barking. would bark at cars coming up the driveway, would bark at the other dogs....he was such a good dog/bird

Goats, pigs, chickens, parrots, cats, horses, cows, guinea pigs.. even bears and lions.

Why is it sad that authorities took the magpie away from two people who were illegally keeping it and exploiting it for social media clicks and money? Not only that because of the selfish actions of these 2 people the magpie can never be released back into the wild again.

australia in a nutshell. people become attenborough's with the slightest introduction to the epicness of our native flora and fauna. i've fallen in love with our maggies (Max and Mary) we've seen 4 years of chicks come through and you get attached to each one. you start whistling and throwing bits of mince etc. adds a lot to our 9-5 lives. this is so awesome

The dog in question is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier originally from England (Staffordshire). These are commonly called "Staffy." They are not Pittie's as they are not pitbull terriers. The Staffy preceeded the Pittie as a breed with the latter descending from the former. Both are great breeds and good family dogs.

I’ve seen a few videos on Magpies. They seem to be really smart and affectionate. Wished we had them in the United States. Those 2 together is so cute and adorable. I could watch them for hours. 🐶 🦅 ❤️
We have them in the desert region of Oregon. I’ve called for coyotes in the sagebrush, and from far away magpies come rushing to see what the ruckus of an injured rabbit is going on.

Most times an Animal will recognize when some one is in impending danger & react as needed. Very kind too.
Once Peggy understood that her caretakers were fond of Molly, that was all it took to start this special relationship.
