- Ziggy Stardust: The Global Premiere
Fifty years to the day since Bowie’s last show as his famous alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust returns to The Eventim Apollo Hammersmith (formerly the Odeon) for one night only.
For the 50th anniversary, ‘Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture’ is digitally restored with never-before-seen footage. The film will be unveiled at a red carpet global premiere and the screening will be preceded by conversation live on stage with some of Bowie’s famous friends.
Fans will relive that iconic night in music history in the venue where it all happened exactly fifty years ago. The film features the complete set, including a performance by late guitarist Jeff Beck, which was cut from D A Pennebaker’s original version.
The event will be live streamed to cinemas across the UK and Europe, with screenings in cinemas worldwide throughout July.

About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

Ziggy left us a long time ago but his legend lives on!
STILL ALIVE. Stay tuned!
what do ya mean by “still alive” pretty sure he’s dead mate
@@mossbergr no sir! There are MANY who've faked deaths. Bowie is apart of an alliance combatting false consciousness within the media. They'll be back soon. We're in the final stages of the great awakening. Buckle up!
@@mossbergr Nah he is living on mars
@@Phantom_ghoul fyi mars is not a planet it's a part of the world outside of the arctic circle.
As a huge Bowie fan who has always felt upset they never got to be alive to experience this, I am genuinely FROTHING
To the best of my memory I had no thoughts of my own on art or philosophy until I found Bowie’s music when I was 16. Today I’m 62 and I don’t know who or what I’d be if I hadn’t gone through so many doors which he opened. I can’t wait to see this movie as it deserves to be seen.
Same with me Stuart. Same with me. Big time.
I founded when I was 15, in 1972, and yes, he was one my best discover for whole life. Ziggy was my " alter ego" 😊
He was eager to learn, to understand, a great personality...think he would be glad to know that you have got better through his music! Best regards from Paris France 👍🍀🙏❤️🙏...am 52😂
David Bowie was a huge influencer in my life when I was 13... I would be in my bedroom doing a ballerina dance to Lady stardust! Saw him in concert at Madison square garden. I believe it was in 1976! My friend who's an artist Philip T Baker known as The Rock and roll painter has done many paintings of David Bowie as well as meeting him four times! I don't worship Bowie I just felt that I had a kinder spirit with him! When he passed away, I literally cried! I loved his music and his art and his acting! I just recently watched the last documentary that they did on him I liked it! I know a lot of people didn't like it however, you have to be an artist yourself as well as being a huge David Bowie! That is just my opinion.
✌🏼✌🏼
I know exactly what you mean, DB meant a huge amount to me as a teen in the 70's and through him discovering the bands/Artists he rated - Iggy, Lou Reed etc. When Punk Rock came along it said a lot about Bowie that he was one of the few established performers that the Punks respected and admired.
I was born in '73 and this concert was so iconic, it was often on lists of things that happened the year I was born. Looks exciting!☆⚡️♡
The greatest Rock Star the world has ever seen.
I am only 15 years old I am loving David Bowie a lot. I was first introduced to him with Queen because I always have been a big QUeen fan and when I heard under pressure I was so in love with David Bowie´s voice! He was a really performer and I would literally sell my soul to have the chance to go on a concert by him, even though he is dead D:. He is a literal icon and everyone who doesn´t know him, how can you literally live?!?!
i'm 65 and been a bowienut for the last 50+;
was lucky enough to see him live on two occasions including his Ziggy tour in the 70's (when i was about your age)
warms my heart to know that every generation includes new fans
i wish you well
Great taste in Music you have!! Love Bowie and am an old fan, wish I’d made an effort to catch him live, was too young for Spiders from Mars tours, my favorite era.peace.
@@samdavepollard Oh my god I am so jealous of you!
@@Lindoesart nah, don't waste your energy on being jealous of some old fart who happened to see a guy singing fifty or so years ago;
seeing DB's ziggy concert is a very precious memory of mine partly because it was one of the very few occasions my older brother and i spent time together doing something cool (long story - won't bore you with the details); but no need for you to feel jealous
find current bands and enjoy the heck out of them while you can
name me a current band who you enjoy, who i can check out
@@samdavepollard oh yeah there are some nice bands now too! Hope you and your brother can share this memory together :D
50 years, seems like yesterday when this 14 year old kid had his mind blown. Thank you David, for putting up with me and being there for me. R.I.P. Sailor. ❤️
Manchester Free Trade Hall second show, 7 June 1973 - I was only fourteen that night fifty years ago, but that concert made quite an impact, it was the best concert I ever went to see. Absolutely brilliant to get the last show digitally remastered complete with Jeff Beck after all these years!
I've watched this loads of times but the chance to see the uncut restored 4k version in the loudest cinema I can find...... Wham bam thank you ma'am!!!!
Been waiting for someone to remaster this concert. I had the VHS copy back in the day and still watch the DVD every few years. Such a brilliant show! The Spiders from Mars were an amazing band.
Still got my VHS !⚡️
David bowie everlasting and unforgettable and unbelievable and unforgettable icon internally evermore
Oh gosh I need this on my life. Ziggy was the mark of Bowie's career and this is a grand opportunity for fans that don't have seen much of David. I was 8 when he died and I am so excited for this chance! This show was amazing.
good stuff, bowie will inspire generations to come
Good to see Roachdogg jr enjoying the good stuff
I am really happy I got to see David when he was Ziggy Stardust ...and of course with the Spiders From Mars.
I didn't discover Bowie til a year later, but once I did, he was it for me. I felt like I had someone by my side. I'll have been by his side for 50 years next year. Love you David. Miss you. ❤❤❤
This is perfect, Father’s Day is coming up (uk) and my dad is a huge Bowie fan who unfortunately never got to see him perform, likewise with Jeff Beck, so this is a dream come true ❤
Ziggy stardust was the most popular in david bowie's music but still a true living legend. Xoxo 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 princess

We miss you 😢
I would love to travel in time and go to Ziggy's concerts. Everything seems to be so exciting and magical, fans incluided! I truly envy all of you who could live in that time ⚡💖 David, I love you 💖
Thank you for this. When I was sixteen I was able to find a bootleg LP of this show. It was a poor recording and the first track on the album was instruction on how to have an occult orgy. I didn't understand why the maker of the bootleg included the instruction but all these years later the release of this film is like receiving new instructions. The ultimate rock star, Ziggy played guitar!! Thank you David for improving my existence with your sounds.
But did you try the instructions? Could make the show even better... 🤔
Miss Him like a Mate 😢
Great way of putting it!
"Bye bye we love you" had me in a puddle. I've loved him for decades and will for eternity. He changed my life as a little girl in the 70's and continues to live in my soul as he does for so many!! I love this concert. I'm thrilled it was restored. And I miss him every damn day.
many thanks to whom ever is posting theses and running the channel
David Bowie was truly not of this earth, his brilliance is missed.
This advertisement has brought meaning back into my life
There will never ever be another David Bowie.
Unique, innovative, supremely gifted artist and songwriter. Music icon and legend.
I MISS YOU SO MUCH, SPACEBOY!
R.I.P
Thank you the high-quality music!
Please make this watchable outside of theaters!
I’m sure it will receive a suitable deluxe 4K BluRay release in a few months time. ⚡️
There is a blu-ray release coming as well as a CD and LP release of the soundtrack which includes the Jeff Beck parts for the first time ever. Plus the movie and soundtrack track sans Jeff Beck have been around for ages.
@@clarenceboddicker9360 Thank you for letting me know!
I have been waiting for this for 50 years !
buying it when it goes digital
Had no idea until now that this was released last year. I was there, right at the front, in 1972! It was an incredible experience, one that I will have to relive by watching this, as soon as I find out where to get it. 🙂
I used to have this on v h s and it got lost when I moved... one of the greatest concerts of the 70's!!
Peace
ICONIC
Long live to Mr Bowie ❤
Would like to Thank you David for the warm red carpet intro in November, 1978, Sydney Oz for me being born in the first week of december, on Thors day.

Ziggy Stardust 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Un grand regret 😢ne jamais l’avoir vu en live
Bowie était extraordinaire ❤
LOVED IT !!
My autistic son and I simply loved it.
👏👍
Goosebumps
Just saw this at the Cinema. All I can saw is wow. David and the Spiders absolutely rock. The visual and audio in the are top class. Felt I was in the audience.
Wonderful a musical genius!!!👋👋👋🙏💙
I was there yet having first seen him in the back room of the Three Tuns in Beckenham the contrast between the curly haired guy sitting on a stool singing with his acoustic guitar and his appearance as Ziggy first at the Regent St Poly, then the Rainbow and finally the Hammersmith Odeon* was astounding and staggering. His transformation simply unbelievable. I last saw him at the Arms Park close to 20 years later but by that time I had become accustomed to this chameleon comedian.
*Call it what you like to me as to so, so many it will always be the Hammersmith Odeon!!!
My local vue better be showing this. Mans an absolute god. Cannot wait 🤟
ESTO ES DEMASIADO EMOCIONANTE, te amo tanto bowie
I saw this film today. David Bowie was a genius. There is absolutely no doubt about it. His beauty, charisma, and talent are unmatched to this day. I'm so lucky to have actually met the man in NYC in the early 2000s.
Crying, throwing up, screaming and sobbing. They deserved way more time together 😢🕊🎸
The Spiders as David's group were a global phenomenon, also from Hull (and district). RIP Ronno and Trevor, keep rocking Woody. Inspired so many of us from 1971 to this day!
The spiders from mars were such a dynamic band!, i can't imagine my world without the memory of those guys with Ziggy Stardust!
Time is an illusion Ziggy rocks on somewhere, some place if only in my head.
🙏David Bowie - legend!! 0:55
Me pregunto si también restauraron "Round and Round" que nunca ha figurado en ningún lanzamiento de este concierto. Espero con ansias el material inédito!
Espera con ansias que se estrene en hispanoamerica
They will put Round and round and Jean genie with Jeff beck
See you soon Bowie! We're too close!

3 OF JULY JUST LIKE THE DATE OF THE HAMMERSMITH ODEON CONCERT I LOVE IT!!!!!
I wish they would release more of the songs that haven't been released. It's like Warner just sits on it. I heard there are lots of music from Low that was never released.
Or his concerts..... I agree with you.
⚡ 💟At Bowies concert in Sydney I felt I was watching God.

Mick Ronson: the absolute personification of a RockNRoll guitar god.
It's been seven years and it still makes me queasy when I read the three words in order: "David Bowie died." Wish this had American venues we could flock to to experience it. To see it at the venue it was shot at is going to be insane for those lucky attendees. It's probably as close to a time machine as humanity is ever going to get 😂
They'll be doing a limited release in cinemas across North America as well! Tickets aren't on sale yet, but they're coming. It won't be quite the same as seeing it at the venue where it all happened, but I'm still excited.
@@melbatoast555 that tears it, I must see it 😤
RIP
Bought it on betamax video when it came out in 1983. It deserves a full restoration.
❤️💔
For The Love Of You David.
Wow
I’ve still got the original release on VHS video !
