Gemini Ganesan is a benevolent small time farmer. Muthuraman and K.R.Vijaya are the children of S.V.Ranga Rao, a rich landlord. M.R.Radha and his daughter Sheela are greedy. Muthuraman loves Sheela and wants to marry her. Ranga Rao opposes but K.R.Vijaya makes him agree. Gemini and K.R.Vijaya marry as desired by Ranga Rao and all live in the same house. Muthuraman and M.R.Radha get angry when the administration is handed over to Gemini. Meanwhile Sheela begets a girl. The girl develops strong attachment towards them and refuses to be with her real parents. K.R.Vijaya gets ed in a bid to save the girl. Ranga Rao wants Gemini to marry again. Gemini remarries after an initial hesitation but doesn't show interest towards the new bride Savithri. The girl kid also rejects her. Meanwhile the estranged son Muthuraman, along with M.R.Radha conspire to swindle Ranga Rao's property. Whether the ploy succeeds and whether the kid joins her foster parent is the movie climax.
