I made some mistakes in the last video on the Specialized Future Shock. In this video I correct those mistakes in a creative way: by talking to myself!

Great video as always! Iâd also be interested in how you will transport the canoe and bikes and why you chose those methods. I love the bike content, but the channel is now named âgreat adventureâ, which isnât bike specific.
Transporting the canoe will be part of the adventure. Iâll either buy or build a canoe trailer. Building one would be way more fun than buying one.
Hi - great content and starting going through your vids. I have replaced the FS 1.0 on my 2018 and local chain bike shop charged me $250 for the part. I installed it myself (no labor).
$250! No kidding? Wow. Thanks for that info. Iâll include this in a future video.
Iâve also been quoted $254 for a 1.0 after it sheared off mid ride and the bars came off in my hands. Done with Specialized proprietary bs. Of course no future shocks are available so I canât even fix the bike to sell it.
@@fast4four That sounds like a crazy fail. There was an 2018 S-Works Diverge for sale with a repaired frame. It was cheap. I was tempted to buy it and part it out since I just wanted the wheel set as a spare.
That really sucks, man!
@@fast4four Hey man can you make a video of how that future shock damage looks like I think it will be helpful to see this for potential owners
Hi, I have a specialized diverge comp 2018 . Is the 1,5 future shock suitable? Can y replace the future shock 1,0 with 1,5? Thank you and greetings from Peru
I would like to see the Canoe build .
You got it, Mark. I have about 120 hours of footage, so there going to be at least a pretty good montage on the build.
Sure, please show us the canoe build
You got it Dave! Thanks!
$550 replacement cost on a 2.0 future shock? ROTFLMFAO
Yeah, Iâm not liking that price either, but replacement is super rare. Your carbon frame is more likely to have catastrophic failure than the future shock needing replacement.
You are probably correct on that, but it is still an insane price considering that it is basically a common spring and little else.
This is not some high tech part of a Porsche F1 development team car suspension system though Specialized would like people to believe it is. Itâs essentially a simple one piece spring enclosed in a tubular casing and little more that probably costs no more than $10 to actually fabricate the entire unit.
My 2 biggest issues with their suspension system besides the above are:
1) the unit is not serviceable by the user even though it is obvious that it should be. This 2.0 shock is no more complex than the BMC MTT rear suspension pivot system, and that system is fully self serviceable with nothing more needed than an Allen key!
2) The fact the 2.0 shock can not be completely locked out to 0 suspension is not only a deal breaker for me it is also a joke from an engineering standpoint that they could not design a simple full lock out for what is essentially nothing more than a common spring sitting in a cylindrical casing with a total capable movement of less than 1 inch.
Just terrible mistakes. : )
I know, right?! đ
