I have bought these pliers repeatedly, because I end up breaking them. They don’t like to be tightened super hard, and the needle nose are just better imo.. but for someone like myself who has terrible trigger finger in both hands, carpal tunnel in both hands and rheumatoid arthritis in both hands, they beat out the old style.

Same. I have much more expensive/higher-end tools but the kobalt tools end up in the mix of used tools all the time while working around the farm and shop. They really do hold up just fine. Have for years. Plus people seem to forget that kobalt / Lowe's will replace them if you needed to. I've literally never had to.

In case your store isn't doing a good job keeping these in stock, Stanley makes a less fancy version that's way easier to find. Lil yellow lever you can pull with your pinky while holding it just like you would to grip something, and it's inverted (squeezes toward your palm instead of pushing away) so you have a ton of leverage. Mine has never popped on me even on super tight grabs, in part because you have such a solid grip while you pop that lever but also because it does just push it open really gently. Just FYI

The question is how long will those teeth stay Sharp? You probably should do a hardness test on the teeth to see if they're any good or not? It's hard to trust other pairs of pliers when I've seen so many fail that's why I only buy Knipex, and maybe a couple from Japan. Lobster is one of the brands, Mary make some great electrical disconnection plies.. I believe I spelled the second one wrong. But it's pronounced that way..

I beat them up around the shop and farm all the time and they are literally also going strong. Right next to my more expensive, all metal, or "higher end" tools. Just because some tools are not expensive, doesn't mean they are cheap or ineffective. Plus, Lowes / Kobalt will replace it even if it did break. So it doesn't really matter much.
