Loved this video. If you guys had tons of squid and sandeels there'd be a lot more fluke. I used to do a lot of winter flounder fishing where the Byram River empties into Port Chester Harbor. This was shore fishing but I had been out with friends of the family in PC Harbor and caught lots of winter flounder even in the summer but it's a long long time ago

Thanks for the comment RS! I've yet to catch a winter flounder but will certainly give it a shot! I hear yellow is the color?

A yellow bead on one of the standard Chester town hooks is fine. In spring fresh shucked bank mussels and or strips of fresh clam are my favorites. For speed anywhere from .3 to .6 is ideal. I wouldn't get bogged down with anchoring up and chumming for a fish or two
They are among the best eating salt water fish this side of the Atlantic

We got on a good fluke bite in the western sound this week as well. 5 keepers in a couple hours of fluking. Fish were most active in 20-40’

Hey great video! What size bucktail were you catching the porgy on towards the end of the video?

Hey there! I'm on the CT side and I'm using a Quantum accurist reel paired with a Daiwa Harrier 64MB rod!
