People talk about not having a car like a ticket to some kind of liberation because they don't have experience with one or if they did, it was only negative. With all the MTA delays, stopping at all those stops that aren't yours, going on a circuitous route, transfer waiting times, crazy, even dangerous passengers, mass transit just sucks. Also, this housing lottery has caused a lot of troublemakers to be able to move into the neighborhood, though there are some good people in those types of buildings, it is also overdeveloping and overcrowding the city even more. Most of my friends have moved out of the city and my family has either died of old age or plans to leave in the future. I'll be left knowing no one except the few neighbors I talk to. There's also the fact that people are very bovine. You could be on fire and they'll just walk on by. I can't wait to leave. I've been investigating different places and am curious about PA. I've visited several times but I also know some people who left the city to move there and none of them want to go back and it's been 2-3 years since they left. That tells you something.
She left out high crime, too much liberal politics, high taxes, high cost of living, rampant corruption, bad weather and illegal immigrants all over the place in NYC. I’ve been to NYC a lot so I would know about it.
In general, just get out. Like seriously don't come to New York, it's a shit show. You'll likely get hit by crime and the politicians won't do anything to make sure you're safe.
