  • We spent a wonderful day in Chiang Mai Thailand going around the city. Our first stop was none other than the well known Maesai restaurant just outside of Chiang Mai old town. We tried KHAO SOI there for the first time and we absolutely loved this Thai food dish. If you are visiting Thailand you have to try this delicious food.
After eating some delicious Thai food we rewarded the kids with some ice cream. We also went around the city and visited the temple Wat Phra Singh. It was a beautiful temple. We had to be quiet as there were people worshipping there.
To finish up we visited the gate into Old Town and took the time to feed the pigeons. It was a blast. Thank you so much for following us and please subscribe if you are enjoying our content.

That's Kanom Jeen Ngiao. It's basically like Thai spaghetti with vermicelli noodles, pork rib is the most common but there's also a beef version, seared cherry tomatoes, pickled greens and congealed blood cake (similar to blood pudding that they serve in a full English breakfast but lighter). You're meant to have a bit of the pork rib meat, noodles, sauce, sprouts and blood cake in the same bite so that you have a mix of textures (not eat the blood cake on its own, although I still find it delicious on its own too, but to some people it can be a little overwhelming if you're not used to eating it). There's no intestines in it at all. Intestines are the opposite - very chewy. It is super delicious. Similar to spaghetti bolognese but the Thai version of it. It's the most loved Northern Thai speciality, even more than khao soi.

The Buddha Images for Each Day of the Week
In Thailand, there is a long-standing tradition of associating each day of the week with a specific Buddha image and a set of auspicious qualities. These images are often used in amulets and other religious objects, and they can also be found in temples and other places of worship.
Sunday: The Buddha image for Sunday is the Phra Buddha Contemplating the Bodhi Tree. This image depicts the Buddha standing still for seven days after attaining enlightenment, contemplating the suffering of all living things. It is said that those born on Sunday are intelligent, calm, and good at making decisions.
Monday: The Buddha image for Monday is the Phra Buddha Descending from Tavatimsa Heaven. This image depicts the Buddha descending from Tavatimsa Heaven after spending three months teaching his mother the Dharma. It is said that those born on Monday are kind, compassionate, and good at communicating.
Tuesday: The Buddha image for Tuesday is the Phra Buddha Subduing Mara. This image depicts the Buddha defeating the demon Mara, who tried to tempt him away from his path to enlightenment. It is said that those born on Tuesday are brave, strong, and determined.
Wednesday Morning: The Buddha image for Wednesday morning is the Phra Buddha Breaking the Bowl. This image depicts the Buddha breaking his begging bowl after a meal, symbolizing his renunciation of material possessions. It is said that those born on Wednesday morning are generous, helpful, and good at sharing.
Wednesday Evening: The Buddha image for Wednesday evening is the Phra Buddha Walking. This image depicts the Buddha walking after his enlightenment, symbolizing his journey to spread the Dharma. It is said that those born on Wednesday evening are active, energetic, and good at traveling.
Thursday: The Buddha image for Thursday is the Phra Buddha Listening to the Sermon. This image depicts the Buddha listening to the sermon of the fire-breathing dragon Sujata, symbolizing his willingness to learn from others. It is said that those born on Thursday are wise, knowledgeable, and good at listening.
Friday: The Buddha image for Friday is the Phra Buddha Reclining. This image depicts the Buddha lying down in his final moments before entering Nirvana. It is said that those born on Friday are peaceful, calm, and good at letting go.
Saturday: The Buddha image for Saturday is the Phra Buddha Bathing. This image depicts the Buddha bathing after his enlightenment, symbolizing his purification from defilements. It is said that those born on Saturday are clean, pure, and good at starting new things.
It is important to note that these are just some of the many interpretations of the Buddha images for each day of the week. There is no one definitive answer and the meanings of these images can vary depending on individual beliefs and traditions. 😀

@@theNusantaraVlog As I've found the info on a Thai website, it said that there are 8 important planets of Thai astrology which are real planet on our solar system - 1.Sun, 2. Moon, 3. Mar, 4.Mercury, 5.Jupiter, 6.Venus, 7.Saturn, 8. Uranus. But there are only 7 days in a week, so they seperate Wednesday the day in the middle of a week into two period of time - day and evening in order to be equal with the important planets.

Did you skip seeing the actual Phra sing in the back of the temple or you just cut off that part from the clip? I just hope you didn’t miss it since you actually went to the temple and went into only the new building in front, not the actual vihan or ubosot where it was reside and these are all really beautiful.
