I have lived in the Texas hill country. Not sure anything can catch a roadrunner. They fly also and when the make their signature call it sounds right out of a horror movie. Also it is very common in the country to have cats around to eat mice or rats. Coyotes and bobcats will eat those once domesticated cats like its nothing.
I mean he’s not wrong. I have a cat and a dog but I know no animals go outside after dark unless they are supervised and for those wondering yes there are coyotes in my area too.

There was a man in Chattanooga Tennessee selling egg rolls at the flea market. Somebody turned him in because he was literally getting cats from the rescue centers around the area. The story made the national news back in about 93 or 94. The egg rolls were pretty good. Had a few of them on Saturday mornings when I went to the flea market
