    As a child, I watched the film on German television. Unfortunately, I couldn't end up watching the movie. Unfortunately, I didn't know the film title and it took me decades to find this film. Now I was finally able to finish watching the film after almost 50 years. Thanks for uploading.

    This was a made-for-TV that I believe aired on ABC in 1969. Great story and actors and how about that musical score.

    Wah a James Bond type movie. I never dreamt that Louis Jordan could play Dracula and James Bond too well. Mary Tyler Moore was delight to eyes. Nice to see Sherlock Holmes (Ron Howard) as inspector of Scotland Yard here.

    I remember seeing this film on television on a chilly night in November 1969. A perfect film for such a night, and a great cast and cars. The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III is chassis number SJR477, and was owned by Kingsbury Motor Services Ltd to numerous production companies. It appeared in several episodes of The Avengers, and was the star of the Thriller episode, One Deadly Owner.

    I remember when this first aired on TV. Great flick, but not available on DVD I fear. I wish someone would upload a version better than 240p.

    I absolutely loved this film. I would so much like to get hold of a Grade A copy. (Wasn't Mary Tyler Moore gorgeous? She was 33 at the time).
    Thank you, to the uploader.

    Thank you for sharing. I saw this a Sunday afternoon in the 80' at the french TV and I loved so much I remembered very well, at least the beginning, for decades. I'm so glad finding it there, only regretting no french subtitles or dubbed version can be watch. I guess Louis Jourdan dubbed himself. No matter, in english it would be nice.

    the movie that piqued my interest in conspiracy theories - i think actress mtm was unknown in britain at the time - which was probably for the best since she was most famous in the US for comedy?
    (weirdly i think the mtm show wasn't shown in britain but the spinoff rhoda that didn't have her was shown there - the pussycat logo for mtm tv in wkrp etc was later still).

    The plot of this film is virtually identical to a black & white 1950's film I saw on BBC 1 on a Friday evening in the early 1980's. A man visits a large house and overhears a sinister plot but no one believes him. He goes back there and is climbing in through a window when he is hit on the back of the head, and he wakes up in a Swiss hospital where he is recovering from a fall in a polo match, where he was the star player. Unfortunately I cannot remember any of the actors in this film but it was set entirely in Britain (apart from the Swiss hospital). I have been trying to find out what this film was ever since. Any offers?

      I think it has to be this movie as this movie was based on an original story by writer and producer Trevor (Bernard) Wallace, who also wrote the screenplay for Journey into fear (1975) and also thee story for the movie Christina (1974) This TV movie Run a Crooked Mile from 1969 is the only movie version of his story.

    • @joeking5310
      @joeking5310 Před 4 lety

      No, it was definitely a different and older film, made in black and white. The lead actor was completely different. I think the writer of run a crooked mile must have seen the film I'm talking about and based it on that film. This older film was definitely shown on BBC 1 on a Friday night in the early 80's.

      @@joeking5310 The Run a Crooked Mile script is an original story and not based on any other story, when it was released the thing it was praised for was its originality, if you look at any reviews of the film this is nearly always mentioned the originality is even mentioned on it's wiki page here (original Premise) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Run_a_Crooked_Mile

    • @joeking5310
      @joeking5310 Před 3 lety

      Yes I know all that, but the truth is there is an earlier version of this film in black and white, which must have been made in the 50's or early 60's, as I described before. Some people out there also know this, and in time it will come to light.

      @@joeking5310 The problem with memories is that they sometimes become corrupted - and appear very real. I would describe myself as a bit of a film addict and I've never seen a B&W, purely British, version of this movie.

    When Sutton met his wife what did he tell her about his past? The only past he had was as Stewart, and he had amnesia. I guess this is a flaw in the story.
