💚 I'm quilting on an APQS George--a sit down longarm machine. This machine is just like an oversized regular sewing machine. I am quilting with Glide 40 wt thread in the top and magna-glide prewound bobbins.

This is a long one! I wanted to show plenty of real time stitching on these feathers so you can see how the develop. I'm always working on improving my videos so if you like more real time stitching like this or want to see more time lapse, let me know! I'm still new to filming on this machine and I want to make it as great as possible :)
Fabulous!!! Thank you so much. Love your easy to listen / learn style.
I think this is the best feather tutorial I've seen yet, thank you!
Best feather quilting video I've seen. Detailed instructions on the iPad and sewing machine is so helpful. I know my feathers will look better from now on. Thank you
The easiest feather ever, thankyou 😊
I LOVE the feathers- yes more videos on variations and specifics
Yes! Please add more feathers videos. Thank you for sharing your thought process in quilting a feather
That was the best tutorial I’ve seen on quilting feathers! So detailed and made so much sense! I might even be able to remember it! 🤪
Great video ! Yes please more feather tutorials. Thank you 🌺
I really appreciate your tutorials. I will be looking at more of them soon.
More feathers?? Yes, please!! I love your tutorials. They are easy to follow and you make everything look do-able 😊
Would love to see more feathers, great watching and having you talk on how your thinking the the curves and sizes of feathers.
I have watched dozens of tutorials on making feathers and this one is the best!! You are a great teacher. Thank you!
I have spent years trying feathers to no avail. Going back to learning again with this method ! Thank you !
I'm surprised and a little puzzled as to why so few have clicked the like button. THANK YOU. I've watched quite a few feather videos and never seen , that I can remember, anyone show us feathers started this way. It makes perfect sense to me and I shall have to practise this now. Please do more as your way of drawing out the shapes to explain and then illustrate the results are excellent. I shall share this video on my longarm group so others can see your work. You are an excellent teacher.
I feel the same. This is so informative and doable!
Many people only click the like button when prompted. They just don’t think about it.
Best tutorial on feathers I have ever seen.
This is an excellent tutorial!!! Thank you!
Best.Feather.Tutorial.Ever.!!!
I love that you show in real time, often the quilting is sped up in tutorials. Thank you 😊
You are the absolute best teacher. I started subscribing months ago because of it but once again you have knocked it out of the park. Your white board explanations are crafted to be as clear and concise as possible. Then when you show the technique in real time it all comes together. I really need the white board AND the real time to feel like I totally understand. More feather tutorials please. More other free motion designs would be helpful too. I only have 4 inches of quilting area at a time and need horizontal designs that fit nicely together after multiple rows so it looks like an all over pattern in the end.
Yes! More feather videos!
Feathers are my goal to learn. So far I just meander or in the ditch so any feather looks exotic and interesting. Yes, more please.
I I have watched a whole lot of feather tutorials and I have struggled to go around the corner with feathers. I have been working on this for a very long time. You are the first to explain in such a way that I understand … Thank You and I can not wait to see more of your feather tutorials. You are a wonderful teacher. Thank You ❤️❤️❤️
This is an amazing tutorial - thank you so much!!
Thank you for such an in depth explanation and diagrams for quilting feathers. Very helpful as my sample quilt sandwich is sitting ready at the machine but needed to check on the best pathway to stitch.
Love this, simply elegant but east. Thank you ❤
Yes, please. More of your fmq. I have watched this video at least three times. I pickup a different tip each time. Thanks, again!
Please do more of these, I also love meandering feathers!
V detailed clear way to show how to do the feathers this way. Thanks.
This is going to be a little long, but I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to FINALLY take the plunge and start free motion quilting!! I was always enthralled with it, but intimidated by it at the same time. I tend to be really perfectionistic and could just envision lots of jerky designs with giant/miniscule stitches that I hated, mixed in with eyelashing, LOL. But I love, LOVE feathers. Over the weekend, I started a just-for-me, quilt as you go, raw edge applique Raggy Roses quilt and decided there was no time like the present to take advantage of trying free motion with individual blocks and not having to deal with cramming a big quilt through the machine on top of everything else. I remembered this video of yours and how you drew the feathers from the bottom up. It had just seemed to click and stuck with me. I took the plunge yesterday and after two practice blocks, I "went for it" and did feathers around the outside of a block, to fill the area around where the rose will be. That first block turned out so great that I "visited" it, to marvel at it over and over again yesterday (and this morning), just amazed that it looked so GREAT. It is not perfect, but it's WAY better than I ever thought I could do and I even managed to navigate the feather around the block corners. I WISH I could attach a picture! So this is my long-winded way of saying THANK YOU, Megan!!!
Megan, you are a wonderful teacher, thank you!
Best feather explanation and demo I have seen in years. Thank you.

This is the best explanation of feathers I’ve ever seen. I now feel like I understand how to do this. Can’t wait to get on my machine and start. Thank you!
Thank you, love your calm and clear teaching approach. The white board and real time stitching makes it very clear. I like all over quilting ideas and this is one I will be able to use. Your new machine gives great angles, very clear.
This is probably my favorite look. I haven't done any free motion quilting as of yet, but I really want to give it a try.

Im so thrilled to hear that!!! I remember struggling with feathers and was so proud of myself when I finally made something that didn’t look like weird fingers 😂

I will look forward to more instructions. Thank you very much Connie from Boston mass.
Excellent teaching!
Megan, I always enjoy your videos- such a wide variety! But this is your best yet! I love feathers, and I’m good at free motion quilting, but I could not mange feathers. I cannot wait to have a chance to try your technique. I just know it will work! Watching you from Australia 🇦🇺
What a great video. Thanks
I'm not a beginner, but I really like your real time stitching. Some things just can't be rushed. You covered so much that this video may get a lot more views than usual. Don't worry about the length. You will make videos as long as they need to be. Just keep them coming.
Fabulous tutorial, love how you explained how to maintain the continuity while stitching along a curve.
That was a perfect tutorial
More would be brilliant 👍😊
Thank you. I learned a lot.
Great tutorial! Informative and easy to understand ✅
