The American T30 heavy tank was originally designed to destroy fortifications and counter German tanks like the King Tiger. In War Thunder it's known more for being one of the few artillery in the US tech tree (before the M109 anyway). It also holds the record for the biggest APHE round in the game.

I mean, you can fire 380mm naval guns at tank and it wont pen it. While irl your tank would be turned into space program
Fun fact, against large caliber AP rounds the Tiger I's driver viewport has over a thousand milimeters of effective protection.

It's not volumetric armor. Warthunder NEVER took kinetic energy into account. It's just that volumetric armor creates more visible situations in which taking kinetic energy into account would resolve strange behavior.
People just expect things to happen cause they know or saw it in movies , like a guy hit with a shotgun flys 5 meters back . For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction , so if that guy flys 5 meters back , the shooter also feels that force .
So if the T34's 45kg shell would rip off the turret of the tank that's hit , the T34's gun , turret ring and breech would get the same force . And this would damage the tank , you can lower that with a muzzle brake but the majority of the power will stay .

Getting bombed in your spawn by a plane is a little different from pushing the enemy back into their spawn on the ground.

y'know i dont know if he has a video usin the T-60 but thats possibly the worst tank in the game...By Far. The 20mm gets gajined very often and you can unload 60 20mm rounds into a biplane and get ricochets

Have the OP guy said to NOT get mad when you get random stuff happen to you outside of your control? Do it. Also tell your friend to ALWAYS be prepared to get CASed out. Be wary of guys who are level 100 and go to low tier to vent their anger, doing seal clubbing (those guys usually have over 8000 battles and over 10k recorded Ground Kills). This game is one of most frustrating games, because of volumetric Hell, texture pop ins, terrible aliasing problems on some maps (on Sweden my eyes bleed).

The high lvl at low tier stuff makes me chuckle..
The other week I went down to BR 1.3 British to play with a friend who hasn't leveled them up yet.
Was having a laugh running around like a headless chook, not playing seriously at all..
Had some very angry player trying to pick a fight with me for being lvl 100 at BR 1.3, they shut up pretty fast when I got tired of it and replied "Says the level 73 playing at BR 1.3...".

As a former M109 gun chief, it IS fun to watch that massive M107 HE round head downtown...
My first rotation to NTC my TC and I managed to get the best seats in the house for the live fire. First A-10 dropped bombs and made a gun run, then the Paladins opened up with full battery fire, then a company of Abrams did a "rolling engagement". Shock and awe indeed. We were about a mile-ish away and well above the range. Couldn't have had a better view!
Also got to see MLRS battery fire in Korea, but their target was somewhere out in the Yellow Sea, couldn't see impacts. Impressive all the same!

If there was a variant of the Ferret armored car that could come to War Thunder, it would have to be the Ferret Mk. 5. It was a Ferret Mk. 3 hull armed with four Swingfire ATGMs in a flat & wide turret and with an L7 (British version of the FN MAG) as a secondary.

Welcome to large caliber rounds Spookston. Incredibly satisfying when they work, but half the time volumetric just says no, and you're liable to die while reloading because every WWII gun above 105mm or so has a drastically inflated reload rate.
Then the type 99 is just playing BFG division (till it hits a hill)

I got this in a snowman box and quickly realized the HE is more reliable than the APHE and with a 30 second reload can’t afford to not kill in one shot

getting killed by bombs when a corpse is between you and the bomb is one thing. It is another level of pain when you die to a bomb around the corner of an ENTIRE BUILDING

In fact, the largest APHE projectile is the Object 268. The BR-540B projectile weighs 48.96 kg, unless you mean the diameter of the projectile.
Technically the largest APHE shell in WT is the 410mm APHE on the IJN mutsu coming in soon

NGL, a lot of tanks even if their armor is "thick enough", when slapped with this shell should have massive spalling on the inside. There's just so much energy at the impact area.

I absolutely love Spookston's scare moments. how he moves his mouse when he gets scared is one of biggest reasons why I watch this channel
As far as I’m aware, the commander always calls out the closest distance range when you look at a target, in spaces of 50. Which the rangefinder or I should say, tanks that don’t have an optical or a laser rangefinder will start to have “error” with the range the further the target is. I think a aced crew has like a 200m error margin between 900m and 1200m
Here's a little challenge I thought you could add on to one of your vids. Try playing the game while only being able to hear only one side!
Reason why I thought you could try it is Warthunder is dependent on hearing for you to do well. And while I've played this for a long time, I am partially deaf as I have no functioning right ear. So many times I'd get screwed over and have to adapt as I can't hear whatever is on my right side.
So I thought you could give that challenge a go to, especially in city maps with close-quarters brawls, where hearing would really help you in normal cases.
I think with Equalizer APO you can pan everything left and setup 3D sound so stuff to your left sounds like it's behind, and stuff to your right sounds in front? I'm not 100% that can work without another ear for the psychoacoustics to work properly, sorry D: it might still be worth a try!

Im so happy you're playing the T30 again. People give it such crap because of it's reload but it's gun can kill EVERY ground vehicle with one shot. Just might have to use the HE. Get used to the reload and it's a blast.

2:00 a Bunch of Japanese warships have special burrowing (through water) shells. Intended to pierce through the water and torpedo defense of an enemy ship and penetrate straight into the magazines. Turns out when you open a hole from the magazine to the ocean, water gets into the magazine and if the powder or shells don't cook off immediately (they won't) the magazine floods (good)

Speaking your commanders language is 100% a buff. They always have been far more accurate for me than the range finder

A mate of mine pointed out a brilliant solution to APHE over pen on like vehicles (M18, Puma, etc), shoot something that is always big and solid like the engine and transmission and let the absurd amount of HE filler OP the whole thing, it works great.
