Do back to back same frame w/ toilet tank on both and see if there is a difference if one is on Betaflight and one is on KISS, I bet that's more of the difference maker, that and a good tune
Enjoyed that video a lot, I'm running my battery regular but often I shred my 5" without GoPro - having the battery more center strapped. When I put on my actioncam, already feel the difference on the pitch on tricks where you throwing the kwad - jucyflicks, lookbacks.... So watching this makes me really want to try the toilet🚽. This was my thought too, I was ripping with a runcam hybrid and my whole stack dead center in a source 1 v3, and even with it being a squashed x, it felt so much better than having a cam on and standard lipo mounting. May need to try this.

Also I'm glad to see you're using the the Dominators. I've had great luck with them so far couple latency spikes but I'm also used to flying analog and just like dgi it took a little while to get used to.
Drew's quad still had an Air Unit in it.
Love the new frame, years ago VikFpv was running a 4.5” alien similar concept with a shorter frame on 5” arms. I built 1, it would be cool if that top plate had slots to rotate the battery 90degrees.

I like traditional battery mounting because it keeps the battery lead safer and also there is less dirty air hitting the rear props. That flying though was really exceptional from both of you.
Best part is you can run it either way’

i've been curious about trying this orientation (based on seeing the portland guys doing it). but we either have to think of a new name...or include an air freshener with the frames
By looking at the video alone, I could say that I agree that with the toilet tank configuration, it's pretty close to the sum of the center of gravity, so it's nearly flat which is excellent for the drones when you want it as plane to the point of reference. Well, with some caveats, of course.

I love this frame, the only thing about the lipo being like that is that you might catch it with a prop in a crash.

I keep my battery underslung. I actually like the bias it sort of gives, as my style of flying is more smooth lines, less mind-bending rolls and spins, helps give a sort of planted feel. Yeah, the battery sometimes cop a smack, but I've never had one try to go through a GoPro haha

@Drew - Cut out some slots in one of your top plates and give it a try. I did that on the OG Skyeliner and liked it :) May have to try it again on MK3.

Nice frame :D still flying remix v2 from Tommy - toilet tank master - little heavy but I ageree it feels much better in air than my other frames.
i know its more impressive to freestyle backwards but it gives me terrible anxiety every time. it's like watching this guy monocycle on mountain ridges. my heart can only take so much x)

this is one of my favorite epidosed ever, because Le Drib is absolutely killing it and enjoys it so much :D i would love to try that frame with an o3 but its impossible to get in europe (withouth imporitng it myself) + the o3 adapter puts the cam out to the front what i absolutly dont like :(
I've been toilet tanking tinywhoops for a while. Great for freestyle I hate it racing though. The extra interia on pitch while.racing is nice

The thing I'm most surprised about here is that Drew uses 4S. I thought I was the only bum around still using those! He has to be smooth because our little baby batteries don't have the power to bail us out!

the toilet tank theory would sound OK to me if you didn't have a gp right on the front of the quad.
surely the normal way would just balance out the gp? no gp I 100% agree it should have the effect you speak about.

I have 3 of these frames. One thing that burns me is when he says that’s kiss ultra by the way. I have been trying to by a kiss ultra 30x30 for months. And yes I’m on the discord and keep missing the boat. I’m ready to give up.

Now do a blind test to see if pilots can differentiate normal vs toilet tank.
Toilet tank makes it much harder to keep the power cable and/or balance plug away from the props.

Well, I dont think the the FC is any faster with that battery position, it is the less work on the motors having to fight less inertia than before.
I would be worried about a prop chopping it

The fpv camera protection on the quad with the blue tpu sucked balls. The lens was sticking way out in front.
A better design is something like the axis flying Manta, geprc mk5 or Armattan's badger or their new beaver. All these companies know how to make a camera cage. This frame of vanny's looks like something from 2018 at best.
for the last 2 years I build my quads with the flight controller in the back and the esc in the centre, so toilet tank mount of the battery makes no sense to me. and btw I don't feel any difference between fc in the back in the front or in the centre..

It honestly doesn't matter how the battery is mounted. It will get damaged either way.
