Matt Bell Because it used to be but it's gotten vastly better in the last 20 years, there's been lots of renovation done to the city. It also doesn't look very bad because it's still in beautiful southern California where there's no winter to destroy everything and there's also been a lot of money invested into the city in recent years. At this point Compton just keeps the notoriety it got in the 80s and 90s but now of days there's statistically much more dangerous places in America. There's still a lot of crime and gang activity that goes on but it's not as bad today as most people make it out to be
