Dell plugged in not charging - ac power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined

Dell plugged in not charging can be a real pain to diagnose if you have never experienced this issue. The ac power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. To do this, I figured let's get more specific and search terms like the ac power adapter type cannot be determined dell but the more specific you get the less information sometimes and if you're too general in searching this problem like ac power adapter type cannot be determined, you'll bring up a problem for every known computer out there. I searched high and low for terms like ac adapter unknown dell, ac adapter not recognized dell fix, ac power adapter type cannot be determined, ac adapter unknown dell, laptop plugged in not charging, battery plugged in not charging dell. Nothing seemed to turn up some helpful information to be able to to find a fix and take care of this culprit of where the ac power adapter type cannot be determined.
Finally I came a across a couple of good options that started me to be able to find a way forward. The first one was about a dell laptop not charging when plugged in. Hitting some additional searches for dell inspiron plugged in not charging fix and ac adapter not recognized dell fix got some excellent information and showed me some videos that were able to shed some light on this. The issue was NOT that the ac power adapter type cannot be determined but more of a How to Fix a Broken Power Jack on Your Laptop problem. These videos came up simply because there can be a problem with removing a bottom cover of a dell inspiron 15 to replace DC Jack and RAM if you aren't familiar with the ins & outs of it. I would not have looked for this information honestly to resolve the dell-plugged-in-not-charging issue seriously. I was very fortunate to come across these. They shed some insight on some things to watch for and some things not to do. The people who do this for a living put out some good reference informational videos. Although it's not exactly specific to the Dell Inspiron 3555 model I have but it was pretty close to where I could feel comfortable to do this repair and so I thank them wholeheartedly.
I have added some additional images from my repair for this to fill in some of the gaps and also I have added some information on an external battery charger that I found to be extremely helpful until I could get this resolved. Questions on this, just drop a comment here.

If you get the dreaded ac adapter unknown or dell laptop plugged in not charging or the AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined messages, most likely it is a DC Jack that is needing replaced and not the AC Battery charger. Even when you get the message that the AC power adapter type cannot be determined, the tendency will be to think IT IS the AC power adapter that needs to be replaced. It is not. The "dell inspiron plugged in not charging fix" is most likely a problem with the laptop DC power jack that needs to be replaced.

I was ready to salvage the data and spare part this machine but this repair fixed the Dell plugged in Not charging or ac power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined error. Plus, I also got my laptop computer clock speed back where it belonged.
