Not big into carp but I do fish them once in a while,if I'd known about this I'd stopped by and threw in.
I have caught a good number of carp and striper while fishing for cats though.In my XP with chumming the lake,the slower parts of the lake,is you need to do it hours before you fish.With very little to no current moving the scent around it takes a long time for it to spread out and attract fish in.A buddy that's also local gets a camp at the Point Campsites a good number of times a year and he chums and doesn't get anything till like the next day,unless there's some already patrolling the area.About 30-40' from the bank it rolls off into 80-100' pretty quick so I try to tell him not to chum out so far as his bait is ending up going to deep.

That's a good tip! I chums the day before we started in this case. I re-chummed the next day as well. It was loaded ha ha. 3 gallons of canned corn. That new pier was difficult to fish. Good for bullheads though.
Great videos. We’ve watched all your rays town vids. We are renting a houseboat out of seven points 3rd week in Sept. sure would appreciate any pointers on locations in and around there to fish for striper, musky and lake trout. Thanks.

How far out were your lines for the carp at 7 points? Camp at senoia every year for the last 10 years or so and I love to fish but I've never seriously fished the lake. I'd love to get on some carp or catfish. I'll be there again Labor Day weekend!
I guess they were about 25-30 yards out. I just cast them and wait. The trick was to chum for a few days ahead of time. I dumped a bunch of corn for 3 days.

Sorta new. Twin Hollows. At the Allegheny Picnic Area near Seven Points.
Are you using circle hooks for the catfish or J hooks?
J hooks
@@randallrydes try a 6/0 offset circle hook and leave your reel engaged. When they run they will hook themselves. Works great for channel cats
