Normally I would have preferred this on a harpsichord, but played at this level it's ok, simply beautiful, perfect. Bravo!

The adagio is the correct speed, to enable the listener to experience Victor Hugo's psychological insight: "melancholy is the happiness of being sad." Great performance.
I wonder if Mr Pace would appreciate some (ad lib) mordents and trills in the RH part, as in Gould's recording ( but Pace's legato on the RH part is better than Goulds sempre staccato in both hands).
Please, from where do you have this citation from Victor Hugo? Adapted for sure to this wonderful music.
