    Developers won't always admit they're selling an early access product, like Cyberpunk 2077 Starfield will need more baking time and development before players start to say the game is fun. Bethesda is likely to need longer than CD Project Red to make their game worthy of purchase.

    • @deuswulf6193
      @deuswulf6193 Před 16 dny +2

      Well, here's the thing about world building and Bethesda. The only original thing they have is the elder scrolls, and the original team is likely gone from the studio, while its founder was driven out with the help of Todd Howard and some corrupt lawyer who was running Zenimax. Fallout was acquired from Interplay. Both pretty much had their worlds already built by then.
      Current Bethesda is likely not all that good at world building, they are relying on their name and on the IP's name to sell the products.

    I think that some people who defend the game should understand that there's nothing wrong with disliking it. It's not going to be everyone's "cup of tea". While there are some aspects I personally don't mind about the game, there are a few things that bug me to this day (be they technical, or developmental). I can't really be excited about new content when there are bugs that haven't been addressed. Also, while story-based DLC has some people salivating, random unexpected situations could be just as exciting; case in point, being attacked upon landing as opposed to walking to a location to meet an aggressor. And yes, there's more that needs to be done before Starfield can truly be Bethesda's opus...and that's just being honest.

    I absolutely hated my first 20 hours in Starfield. I did not partake in activities that would level my character quickly, so the lack of skill points really diminished the enjoyment.
    Around level 20, it felt much better.
    There's things I genuinely enjoyed about SF. Certain questlines, the creature designs, and most of all Glitch-Building ships. My A10 & F16 were quite well received.
    There was plenty I dislike as well: Terrible Stealth System, Boring Repetitive Exploration, Idiot Enemies, Mistakenly thinking Pirate-RP was viable, Empty Enemy Ship & Asteriod Pet Bugs. (I can overlook the lazy writing.)
    SF was okay, but I'm glad my copy was included as part of an AMD promotion. I'll check out the update next week, see how much it improves combat.
    Personally, I don't think this update will make SF worth returning to for most players. It's definitely good for those who still enjoy it though.

      I actually didn't hate my first 20 hours in Starfield, it was still new I guess... but after 20 hours I realized this game has absolutely nothing to offer apart from recycling the same planets, enemies... story is bad, companions are terrible, quests are boring, factions are IaughabIe (space cowboys). I somehow managed to endure another 20 hours, until I really started to hate it...

  • @VeloxCorvum
    @VeloxCorvum Před měsícem +5

    I've just started playing and have about 50 hours.
    I disagree with some of the points you've made, particularly regarding the levelling and skills. I like the fact you've got to plan and develop your characters individual skills before jumping to a new one. I also feel that the levelling is quick enough that I find myself forgetting about the skilltree and coming back later to like 4/5 points at once. I definitely see you point though as it can be tedious.
    The main thing that's kept me playing is the story. Definitely not the main story because its pretty uninspired and become a 'space god' doesn't do it for me. However, the faction quests, particularly the UC & crimson fleet, are brilliant and some of the best narratives I've seen in a while.
    I have to admit, the level design and planetary traversal is boring as hell and I've only been able to keep playing to see where the story goes.
    I doubt you got to all the 'Unity' stuff since you didn't play for that long but part of is completing the EXACT SAME fetch quest 24 separate times.
    Its such a shame because starfield could've been incredible and you can still see some of the spark in the narrative and world building.
    Overall I'd give it a 7/10 but only because I'm the sort of person who can give up a bit of the gameplay for a good story.

Same Iame quests, cringe dialogue and mediocre story, same boring combat, same dead NPCs... it actually devolved since Skyrim in some aspects, for example NPCs in Skyrim &Oblivion had daily routines (like in Gothic2 or KCD). In Starfield named NPCs just stand in the same spot 24h with one or two idle animation.

    They could have easily fixed this game by completely removing the "You require x more points in lower tier skills to get the skill you want"
    Let me start leveling the skills I want to, from the start, why not? Why would knowing anything about the hand scanner have any influence on weapon modding or suit modding?
    Also there are TONS of skills that have 0 right costing 4 skill points, many of them should have been 2 point maximum investment, that would cut down on the tedium of research.
    Far too many of the RPG elements of this game feel horrible, forced and arbitrary gates, rather than for any meaningful reason or game-play enhancing reason.

Just in past 2 weeks by steam i have made 154h of playtime and over 830h in total. Am i stoping any time soon, hell no, this is my primary game now and nothing else i played can compare to how much staff i can do while playing Starfield. From Bounty hunter with his own head wanted all the time by trait, to runing cargo and passanger runs, being ambushed upon entering systems by mercs or pirates and claiming their ships for myself and those are the most fun and trill when i get outnumbered and still get out on top and than also attacking bounty hunter defenders who want me alive for the bounty on my head to be bigger but i decide not to leave them alone, working as corporate spy is my favorite story line and framing other corpos in process is that much more satisfying when i finish all the optional quest during quest line, being literal Clint Eastwood and renaming my space version of 44 magnum "Do you feel lucky punk", working my way as a literal colonial marine in UC Vanguard story line and becoming bug hunter like Johny Rico from Starship Troopers or VJ Dax from second movie who was badass btw, and finally working as a maul within crimson pirates to assist Syss def and get rid of pirate scum. I love all activities, cuz when i first logged in and created my first character and saw all the possibilitys for me to roll play as i was blown away. So to short this one up yes i think a lot of CZcams content creators are straight up liars just so they can get fast likes and views on their videos without fully playing or exploring this game. I mean every day i play i learn something new i didn't know before and possibly didn't care to even look up and see if anyone else have discovered it yet. So to me this is the game of my lifetime. Cheers everyone and have a nice day.

It's not the greatest game ever and certainly didn't meet its potential but it's still a good amount of fun for many, and easily launched in a more playable and complete state than say, Fallout 4 or especially 76, which are both currently seeing a resurgence in popularity.
