Can someone ask Coco if she is really ok. All this talk about her technical flaws but not really thinking about the journey it took to get here. Coco spent 4.5 months in Europe on clay trying to get ready for the French open and 3 disciplines at the Olympics. She came up short in all of it. She should not have played Toronto at all but she didn’t and that probably added to her insecurity since she lost so handily to Diana. Coco is succumbing to the pressures of all the expectations from other people and herself. It sucks so bad because she literally is 20 and everyone else in the top 5 has at minimum 3 years of life experience on her yet we hold her to the same expectations and standards. I’m really hoping she can get the mental health help she needs because I think that alone will help with her game. She should get off social media for as long as possible and focus on her game and confidence.

Brad isn’t the reason she’s double faulting, choking leads, starting flat just to comeback to get in a winning position and choke again with a series of double faults and unforced errors since Wimbledon. I think she should rather see a good sports psychologist than fire her coach. She breaks easily mentally on the court, often starts crying, and seems lost. Instead of arguing with an umpire about one point, she should think about the whole match and adjust her strategy to that. She has some work to do on her tennis technique, but it is her mental issues she should try resolving first. It's not the world that it is unjust to her, but her mental strength and technique need some improvement.

Agree that maybe a three week or months break after the US Open to work with a psychologist and her coaching team is a good idea for her.
Rybakina is looking quite sick on the court. She’s obviously dealing with some kind of ongoing illness and heard that she and her team don’t exactly know what it is. She might need to shut it down after the US Open until she can get proper diagnosis and treatment.

The demons troubling Coco's tennis do not live inside Brad Gilbert. It is only Coco herself who can dig herself out of the ditch she has put herself because she suddenly started playing very badly. The way she is playing now, it will need a miracle for her to reach anywhere near the finals at the US open. It's really a shame. Her tennis career started very well and now she is playing like the 40 year old grandma. Even Serena played better at 38 than Coco is playing now at 20. Whether it the relationship thing or whatever, she is the only person who can resolve the issue.
What I see from afar is she seems to be a Lady who likes to do things her own way. I don't know if she is even coachable. Many players copied Serena. Maria Sharapova admitted in her book that she started copying Serena when they were little girls and it paid off. I see that Aryan seems to have modelled her game alongside that of Serena and it paid off. I don't understand who Coco has modelled her game after. She has everything it takes to become the next Serena but l see her to be a little stubborn to learn. And this stubborn attitude l believe is one thing that she can't overcome.
I still wish her all the best but l am very apprehensive.

So unfair to compare the mens and womens games. The women are like a junior handicap tournament with comparatively lower levels of fitness, skills and intensity [with the exception of Iga]. However the women make up these shortfalls with their emotionality, drama, entitlement and what appears to be a mutual loathing [just love those no look handshakes]. So I for one will continue to support what is an inferior product.
