I like your perspective on this and how you look at it. It’s true that we tend to gravitate toward similar styles that work for us,but I see them each as quite different if I really love one and not the other for some reason. Usually if I have something similar I go for another color to make it different. But that only works if you are a fan of more than just black and tan. Also I tend to look at more than the type of style and function. For instance I see that the basic style (flap bag) and color (black) of the Hermes flap bag is similar to the Chanel reissue in black, but it’s a totally different bag IMO. Your analogy was hilarious by the way😂. But the guys’ personalities would probably be different haha. So the reissue’ “feel” and aesthetic is different to me. The feel and sound of the chain, the clasp, etc. which I’m sure is why I keep buying so many darn bags. They are all so different to me in their details. By the way I highly recommend finding a color in the reissue 226 that you love. It’s the best bag! And I too will often compare what I want to what I already have and choose a different color or size to make sure it doesn’t compete, so that I can enjoy them both with different outfits. Currently waiting for my biggest crush at the moment, the Evelyne 16 from my Hermes store. My SA told me today to be a little more patient 😂 but it’s been three months. But we all know how it is with Hermes 😅
Also crushing on the Celine vertical mini shopper in white, and I’m considering getting that if the Evelyne 16 doesn’t come after a year of waiting 😂 Your video just made me realise that the two bags are quite identical in purpose, but different aesthetics.

The vintage kelly is also my bag crush but after trying the mini kelly dupe i think possibly that even though i love looking at sangles i sort of hate the functionality 😂

I know what you mean! The Birkin at least has "sangle holders" that keep them in place, but you sacrifice a crossbody strap...
