Ever since Dubai, Paolini has been a player that players should prepare for. Would love to see her play Sabalenka, Swaitek etc...congratulations 🎉
that seems an over statement, the highest ranked player she faced since then is Navarro (20) and she lost that match - she isnt going to be affective against top 10 at their best, her game is still the same. Kalinskiya is the one who beat the top 10 players in Dubai. Jabeur hardly has any form (lost 6 matches in a row and barely won against Alexandrova

Winning against out of form Jabeur isn't any feat. Good form Rybakina will be different story. Most likely Rybakina will win and face Swiatek in Semi-final.

@@longlifevibes8842 she won Dubai without facing the top 5 players, nor has she since then. there is 0 proof she is ready for that sort of level tha her improvement is enough to challenge them when she lost to Potopova and Navarro

Ons is still moving great on the court and has touch and power. Against Paolini who plays good tenis for last weeks may be hard. Match was close anyway.

You need more than drop shots in 2024. That game has been found out now.
It's fascinating how Paolini with her height manages to serve pretty well without a lot of double faults. Yet in contrast Zverez, who is 6' 6'' struggles to get past the net and constantly double faults.🙂😀

Jabeur didn't do many things wrong, just unlucky in that first set tiebreak, and had she made the break in the 2nd she could have pulled out a 3rd set, but a tight and solid win for Paolini nonetheless.
Ons Jabeur needs a hard reset.

I've yet to see one of those good games that people say Jabeur can play. :/ She moves kinda slow and hits the net way too often.
She definitely has a great range of shots but thats part of the problem. She overcomplicates things going for drop shots and passes with little margin. It's great to watch but inconsistent from match to match. I think a more simple game plan would get her through these type of matches. She does need to get fitter.

Ons is gonna continue to play as she has every right to, but imo, she should take some time off. That Wimbledon final did a number on her & has practically bled thru her game in the past 9 months afterwards. Mentally she's not with it at all.
Once again Ons loses a set point on a dinky slice instead of hitting through the ball like she should.
Paolini is looking strong this season. Ons looks like...well, Ons. Not sure how she's top 10 still. Injuries to others, a player or two on maternity leave, underperforming by a few? Mertens has had a better career.
